Don't go here unless you have to. This place is dirty, the people that work there are rude , from the customer service to intake workers to case managers and psychiatrists. This place is for the poor and ghetto, so they have no respect. I had Carolyn Holbrook as a case manager and she was a bitch, who tried to get me put into the hospital because I had a dispute with her . She started out nice , until I needed her to write a letter for school and she didn't, then I got upset and reported her for that and she got mad at me for reporting her, for not doing her job. Actually, she told me to come in and she wasn't there , which she did purposely , someone else had to write me a letter and do her job. Anyways., I stop going there after after that . I now go to a upper class mental health place in Grand Blanc , where the therapists are caring and psychiatrists are better and want to help you get better. They don't give you a bunch of meds that aren't for you or don't work. GCMH, only give meds that really don't work for poor people. If you can't afford to pay to go to a better place, try anywhere but here. Also, if you happen to look nice or dress nice, they really don't want to help you, you have to look bad and the black women there like, Carolyn Holbrook and Marsha Marble are really mean and nasty, don't go to them for help. Their just there for a paycheck, they don't care about people. Sadly, some of the people that work there look unprofessional and sloppy , like they need mental help. Stay away if you want to be treated with respect, even if you complain they don't care! more

Avoid this agency at all costs!!! I once thought this agency was a GOD send. It was the devil in disguise. My case manager Anthony S. was caught discussing me and my case with his family. That is against the law. When I filed a complaint with the recipients rights office I was later informed no investigation was being made in spite of the fact I had given them an e-mail that proved my rights to privacy were violated. I recently received another message from manager A. SKODINSKI and his fiancé and in it they threatened me. It s not widely known that therapists have the power to pick up a phone and make a call to the police and have anyone in this country picked up off the street or in their home and taken to a hospital for however long they want to keep them locked up. When I dared to seek legal help after it was made known my complaints against SKODINSKIi were not being investigated the agency tried to have me arrested. This agency has a copy of the threatening message made against me by the therapist, SKODINSKI, and it is I they tried to jail. This agency is dangerous. As long as you keep your mouth shut and let them do whatever they want to you you will be ok. If you dare to make a complaint you are likely to find yourself locked up for however long they want to keep you locked up. Be advised this agency is not the helpful and caring facility they want you to think they are. more

I recently took a friend to your agency in search of help. \r He had been homeless, abusing alcohol, marajuana and meth since the death of his mother a year ago. We both sat together throughout the intake process and I was almost in tears as he answered the stringent questions asked by the intake worker. Yes, he had thought of suicide. Yes, he had been not using, but abusing drugs., Yes, he had previously been recieving disabilty for his condition and Yes, he was there asking for help.\r The intake worker made her calclations and then stood up.\r She told my friend that based on the information given that he did not meet there ""criteria"" for recieving any help from them.\r After he left, I stayed behind.\r I said ma'am, didnt you just hear what he said to you.?\r How can he NOT qualify for mental health treatment.??\r He was labled learning disabled at the age of 6 and has been recieving disability since age 18, how can you say he doesnt need help?\r She stood by her original findings and suggested we go other places.\r We went back to the original person I spoke with, Bill and told him what she had just said.\r He immediately went into action and persuaded her into ""reconsidering"" her decision; which she finally did.\r \r My friend is now a resident at New Paths in Flint and I am so thankful for there services there.\r \r Even though this story has a happy ending, I cannot keep from thinking what would have happened to my friend had I not been there to stand up for him and see this all through.?\r I think the intake workers need to have more compassion for the plight of others.\r The people who knock on your door wouldnt knock unless they needed your help.\r \r 3 out of 5 stars from me. more
