Gamestop

After reading the above rediculous review I feel obligated to respond with a review of my own. My family and I have been patrons of this store for several years. In fact we have moved & are closer to other Game Stop locations, but will still only go to the store in Orange, specifically because of the extremely helpful & kind staff including Brad, Nick & Josh. I have two children, one of which is special needs. Brad, Nick & Josh are ALWAYS extremely kind and friendly to my entire family, especially my special needs child. Regarding the bathroom issue, these staff members would be risking their jobs to let any patron use their bathroom, and because of this it would be unfair & impossible to expect them to pick & choose customers to allow in the back. I'm quite sure ""momofvina"" would not be willing to replace thier income had their jobs been lost. And as far as the ""horrible bar"" next door, it's actually a restaurant/bar with facilities that are much more favorable then a staff only bathroom in the back of a game store. If this mother had spent less time observing the staff's outfits & arguing with them, i'm quite sure her five year old would have been saved the humiliation of urinating on herself. Needless to say, I can assure you that the staff, which still remains at the store even years later is extremely competent, knowledgable, and friendly. It's unfortunate that people who live to complain have the ability to tarnish the reputations of great people running a great store. more

Here's the story: After JUST purchasing 2 nintendo DS lites at a different (much friendlier) Gamestop in a town over, I decided to go to the Gamestop down the street from me (Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT) After a few minutes in the store, my daughter, who has a medical condition, had to all of a sudden use the bathroom very bad. I asked Nick (an associate at Gamestop) if she could PLEASE use the bathroom - and that my 5 year old child will literally urinate on herself if I dont get her to a bathroom quickly. ""No we dont have a bathroom"" says Nick. I pleaded, please she really has to go bad, she is clean, it is not a ""smelly kind"" and so on. Still, Nick smugly, in his pink shirt, with absolutely no sympathy says - ""no go to the bar next door"". I was flabergasted, and asked for the manager. So the Manager - Brad (some other teenager or what looked like one) with plaid shorts, a tee shirt, and his hygeine in question said ""I'm not letting her back there - we have stock back there"" (Mind you, their teenage girlfriends are just hanging there in the store laughing at my family like its all a joke!) And also, we have bought $1000's worth of stuff in the past. So I asked him if he can please make an exception this one time, she's only 5 and will urinate on herself - and asked him to accompany us back there if he is really afraid of something happening to the stock. Brad said no I'm the manager - I'm not letting her go to the bathroom - take her to the bar. Running out of time - I ran out the store w/my 5 year old to this awful bar - and she already urinated on herself. Embarassed and upset - we went back to Gamestop, (my husband & son were still there waiting because we were also trading in games). My husband said the cashiers, manager, and their girlfriends were talking bad about me! I could not believe it. I asked for Brad's Manager - in which he said - he was the only store manager. They are very wrong, and we will never spend another dime at this Gamestop. How awful.
