Good grief, 30 + years with the same bank. What is wrong with us? Likely it is INERTIA.
At last we are seriously thinking of moving to some other financial institution. Continually feeling 'nickel and dimed' by Fulton bank in the changes they've instituted, we've finally encountered the proverbial straw overloading the camel's back.
It is Fulton Bank's ludicrous process of putting on their online menu for transfers from our checking account to a loan account THAT DOES NOT REDUCE THE AMOUNT FROM THE PRINCIPAL but only treats it as a regular loan payment (which only applies a small part from the principal)!
This is particularly idiotic in that WE ALREADY HAVE FULL AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENTS taken from checking.
Seems merely a means of the bank attempting to deter people from paying off loans, mortgages, etc earlier.
Beware this practice that works against the fiscally responsible attempting to manage money wisely...
