Friends Salon

I have been going to Sandi for about 9 yrs. The minute I walk in the door I am greeted with a welcome smile from Ashley at the front desk. The salon is clean, decor is updated & that white leather sofa is comfortable since I usually arrive early due to my commute from Farmington Hills. I pass many salons along the way, however, I'm going where the staff is like family. They are personable, yet professional. I was married in June, visited Sandi for my hair styling. Before I knew it, Nicki had turned my unkept nails beautiful. She changed her plans so she could apply my makeup. When I left the salon that day I felt like a princess and at 61 that hasn't happened in a long, long time. I will never forget the attention I received that day and each time I visit Friends. I can't think of a more appropriate name for this salon. If you are looking for a friendly & professional place for service...this is the one! more

My husband and I have been going to Sandi for over 20 years. She was our hairdresser even before she owned her own salon. She and her staff have always made us feel like family. Pros: Best Salon in Town! more

I am a customer of Friends Salon....I for one don't appreciate the hashing of immature statements. The 3 girls that left, left for their own reasons, whether it be lack of respect or just plain time to move on...Point being it's done, move on and get over yourselves. Do you really think that putting yourselves out their in the way that you have is good for your business building? If I were a customer of yours and saw the things that you wrote I would be wondering what you were saying behind my back! Enough is enough! ok, it was a recent tues night that i came in and the receptionist seemed as if she was totally lost as to anything that was going on. I think she might have been new. i walked in for a haircut and was given to julie. She was so great with me and made me feel so welcome, even though i was the only person in the salon i thought that was strange. it was pretty quiet in there, the receptionist was busy building shelves of some sort up front. I think she might have been the manager or owner because she kept walking by and observing my stylists work and making comments as if she didn't know what her own employee was doing. My hair turned out amazing and i loved the way my stylist worked with me and gave me exactly what i wanted. i would definitely want to go back to visit Julie, but i don't know if i want to feel like a spectical again. I just didn't like the way that the owner kept telling her how to do things that i didn't want. I hate when stylist do what they want. I walk into a salon expecting to get what I want. I was told I would have to wait a 1/2 hour for my hair. I ended up waiting 2 hours. I had to leave, do some shopping and come back. This is not the stylists fault because I know other appointments run over and sometimes clients want more done to their hair than expected but the receptionist should have odne a better job scheduling the appointment or the stylist should have told their client to come back another time if they wanted additional things done to their hair. That was the second time I was there and both times I had to wait way longer than expected. My first stylist Olivia was great, the second time I came I can't remember her name but my hair looked horrible. I am going to come backto Olivia for sure. I rated the salon poorly based on the time management and the wait but Olivia is great, definately come in and see her. I LOVE SANDI. She is the best stylist I have ever had, except shes trying to pawn me off on her other stylists, hahah. She'll never get rid of me. :] Great haircuts, great special occasion 'dos, great location, great people. Olivia is awesome at doing hair and she gave me the best manicure. The owner is the most hypocritical person I have ever met in my life. All she does is talk about what a christian she and her family is and then all I hear is her gossiping about her clients and her own employees one after the other. I can't stand her whiny voice and I now have my stylist do my hair at her house. Yes everyone gossips, it's human nature, but it's is totally unprofessional to bring that into the workplace. friendly, informative on products, hospitable. One time my stylist was running very late and she gave me a discount on the service. Stylists are caring and friendly. They really seem to take an interest in my satisfaction with their services. Atmosphere is very friendly. Fresh cookies & coffee always. Stylists & receptionists are nice and never any pressure to buy products. There is nothing that I hate more than when the stylists try to make me buy products and here they let you decide and take your time. Friends makes me feel comfortable whenever I walk in the door. They are friendly and they are very informed on their products and services. I always see the receptionist cleaning so I know I am in a clean environment. I get my pedicures and hair colored and cut there and I have never been unhappy with the final result. If you decide to stop in, ask for Olivia because she is my stylist and she does an awesome job with my hair!
