Second time I ordered delivery from here. First time was great (le cheval), second time was disgusting (mediterranean croque). I am a regular dine-in customer and was extremely disappointed by my most recent experience. I spit it out as soon as I took a bite - it was rancid - opened it up and the ingredients looked grey and old. The salad that came with was wilted. Won't be ordering online again. more

Excellent service, authentic food and great atmosphere 7/10/2008

This is by far the best French restaurant I've been to. The food is deliciously simple and the prices are affordable. I can't wait to go back. Pros: Delicious food. There servers speak French too Cons: Wish they were open past 5 p.m. more

Viva La France! 7/7/2008

I love the French Market. It's my reward after a hard workout at the Qi Pilates/Spin Studio next door. Everyone speaks French, but they are nice and friendly. It's a great escape from the typical LA conversations of movies, losing weight, hating men, etc. Pros: staff, quality, price, atmosphere Cons: no wine more

Best Change of Scene for Breakfast 11/16/2006

We've been going here for over 3 years. They expanded the deck recently, so nice weather is a bonus. Yes, there are plenty of dogs there, so don't take your temperamental pooch. Pros: Ambiance, FREE parking, Breakfast Cons: Not Full Service, and finding a table can take 10 min. more

Great breakfast, Lots of attitude 7/31/2006

I come here frequently for breakfast. Either the cheval or the almond croissants. Always excellent. But the business could use a little less attitude. And the prices aren't exactly the most reasonable. more

On the decline 1/11/2006

The sandwich and the salad have been shrinking for 1 year since the change of ownership. Coupled with a price increase, this place is on the decline. The menu has not changed either. The problem is not only in the plate, the place also needs some new paint for the outdoor area. The wonderful deck is asking for a make over in order to get back to better standard. It looks like the owner are cashing in too much ! The service is very nice and very french. It is fantastic to have a coffee on a sunny week end. more

Delicious Breakfast Offerings 7/19/2004

The first thing my girlfriend and I noticed about this quaint Abbott Kinney district establishment was how crowded, with people and dogs alike, and hard to land a table, be inside or outdoors, it was. Once seated, we scanned the rather limited, but flavorful menu. We both ordered what we later noticed was a dish that graced the better part of all the tables we could see, a croque made with baguette (eggs over medium, a slice of ham steak, and fresh swiss cheese) served alongside a field greens salad. The dish was delicious and quite hard to finish. The only drawback of the place was the heavy patronage of K-9 owners milling about, their dogs sticking their noses in and amongst other customers, and talking to their dogs as if they knew what on Earth it was they were saying. Don't go if this bothers you...otherwise, Bon Appetit! Pros: Well Priced, Outdoor Seating, Authentic Cusine Cons: , Crowded, Disorganized Staff more

Ex-pats, espresso, imports 5/18/2002

Mornings and early afternoons, the front patio of this intimate cafe is packed with laid-back locals--many of whom are Euro ex-pats. Ratatouille here is delicious, and the cafe's sandwiches here come on fresh baguette that's so chewy my jaw has ached afterward. Run by a French couple, this cafe also functions as a petite mercantile for fond imports from the homeland: French magazines, bitter chocolates and favorite wines are all available for purchase. Pros: Lively cafe scene, Perfect on sunny day, French food imports Cons: Long lines at lunch more
