Outstanding Food and Service! 2/23/2011

I was introduced to Frankie's about 3 weeks ago by a friend. Since then I have been back roughly 7 times for both dine in and take out. The owner Lionel and his brother Joel could not be more friendly, professional, and accommodating to me and my guests. more

Love this place! 5/19/2009

I just found this place and have only been in a handful of times to order somehing to go, but I have still been helped at least twice by the owner himself. That shows dedication to customer satisfaction. And the Italian cold cut subs are GREAT! more

Dirty Place 5/15/2009

As I sat down, I noticed that the table had not been wiped down from the previous customer. I figured I was going to ask the busser or server to do so. I then opened the menu and saw a piece of ziti stuck to it with some marinara crusted to it. Oh wow, I thought. I then grabbed the silverware roll and noticed food stuck on the knife. Three strikes, you're out. I got up and walked out. Could you imagine what the kitchen looked like? I don't know who they payed off for the A rating in the window Cons: Very dirty more

\r \r If you want to be overcharged, then verbally abused (using the f--k word more than once in front of other customers, by the owner Lionel) for questioning the overcharge------------- then this Is the restaurant for you! It was an AWFUL AWFUL experience. Unconscionable!!!!!! more

The real story about sunday night 2/10/2009

Hi, Ive been going to Frankies for the last 5 years I felt mr weenos review was unfair and unjustifiable being that I was sitting at the table behind mr weeno and his parents..One thing that mr weeno left out of his review was that after being told he wasnt going to be comped or discounted and that Lionel the owner was sorry for his mis reading the menu board.only to be loudly and abusively and infront of myself my party and another table and 4 or 5 of his employees called an"":ARROGANT SON OF A --ITCH"" by mr weeno. After hearing the obvious flagrant namecalling, the owner, I feel responded accordingly by telling mr weeno to leave his establishment and not to come back..I love the food and the wonderfull service I have always received at Frankies..One bad apple with a bad attitude wont stop me from telling all my friends how exceptionally excellent the food and service always has and will be..Thanks Frankies for all the great food and service and I will see you on Valentines day for dinner Pros: Great food and service Cons: there arent more Frankies more

Great food, fair prices and terrific service. 2/9/2009

We've been going to Frankie's with my parents for years ( not 25 because it hasn't been Frankie's for 25 years) but still, for a long time. Not only have we always been treated as valued guests but we've been made to feel like family every time we visit.. The menu selections are always fresh and delicious, prepared beautifully and served hot. If you want something that isn't on the menu, they'll do their best to make it happen. One of the indications of a great neighborhood restaurant is how many people are willing to wait for a table. That can happen fairly often at Frankie's but if you call ahead you'll get an honest estimate of how long you might have to wait and they do their best to honor reservations in a timely manner. Pros: Great food, great people. Cons: Sometimes a little too crowded and noisy. more

70-year-old couple and their son get thrown out of Frankie's -- after eating there for 25 years and at least 150 times 2/8/2009

Other reviews reflect my experience at Frankie's - til last night. If our experience was caused by an employee, rather than the owner, I wouldn't post this review - because it wouldn't be fair to the owner. But the OWNER's handling of a situation is what warrants this review. more

Great neighborhood Italian 3/13/2007

Great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Owner is almost always on the premises, and it shows. The staff has been there a long time, and that shows too. Very extensive menu, large portions, reasonable prices. The chopped salads are excellent, as is the veal, and the ""Be Healthy"" pasta is great. We have out-of-town guests who insist on going back time after time. Pros: Excellent food, good value, great service Cons: Often crowded because of excellent food, good value, great service more

Improved decor has greatly improved ambience. 4/20/2006

Frankies has become a family staple for great takeout, a low-key romantic night out or a group affair with kids and all! The staff are extremely attentive, prompt and considerate making it a supremely easy option for most occassions. The interior has benefited greatly from a recent refit, improving the ambience. The food is great value with something for everyone in your party. Takeout is prompt and hassle-free too. Recommended! Pros: Expansive Menu, Considerate Staff more

Need to go back and try some more 10/12/2005

My first and only experience with Frankie's was overall positive. The service was excellent. The ambience was so-so. The restaurant is a tight spacial setup for the amount of customers, but that seems to be the requirement for an authentic Italian bistro. As far as food goes, I probably made the mistake of not having the specialty course which would be the seafood. My pasta dish was ok, the flavors didn't quite blend well together. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them, so definitely stick to the seafood dishes. The place did get very busy as the night went on and is full of regulars who like to stare (rudely) at the newbies. Otherwise the prices were reasonably for the quantity, which was generous. I definitely recommend the desserts such as the cheesecake...yum! Pros: service, desserts, seafood Cons: ambience more
