Best

This jeweler has such a variety of choices their prices are the best. I fear going in because I never leave empty handed

Worst

They gave me a price on buying my silver coins, I delivered the coins the next day, and in spite of the market being up every day that week......and after 30 minutes of inspection...

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/11/2013

Don't ever buy from this store. The owner is rude and their service is horrible. I bought a watch as a Christmas gift (not special order) and they would not refund money even though I returned in original box and unused. I asked them if I exchanged for a less expensive watch if they could refund the difference because it was a very expensive watch and I could not afford it (I was very honest with them), they said no that they could only give store credit. I never signed anything acknowledging their terms and their store receipt even says ""No Refunds on Special Orders"" which means they give refunds. They have HORRIBLE customer service and do not want to work with people at all. They knew when I bought the watch it was a gift because it was a men's watch and I am a female and it was for Christmas. Don't ever buy from them, go to Beverly's instead, they are much nicer there. more

Fountains Jewelers 2/19/2010

I told my son (who just got engaged) to get an engagement ring from Fountains Jewelers, just as I did 21 years ago. Been happily married 21 years and my wife always enjoys and loves any goodies I bring back for her. In the beginning, my son didn't believe he'd get a good price, and now a friend of his cant believe it either as he is also looking for a ring. There is definitely something for everyone at Fountains Jewelers and the sales associates helped me find something for my wife for this past valentines - of course, she loves it. -jeff Pros: this jewelery store has an on-site police officer - safer. Cons: Wife keeps wanting more ;-) more

Great Store 2/19/2010

This store has beautiful unique pieces, as well as great service. I have been a customer for almost 8 years and am always so satisfied when I walk both in and out the door.\r I sold my gold a couple of weeks ago and got more then any other retailer would've given me; I definitely recommend Fountains Jewelers to anyone looking to either buy or sell gold or any piece of jewelery. Pros: Overall great store more

was my 2nd time there and still..... 2/19/2010

was my 2nd time there and still..... i left with a smile on my face. I originally went in to sell my gold and some old jewelery (was of no use after divorce), they checked it on the spot and got paid on the spot too. This time though I saw a nice Rolex watch that caught my eye - i thought why not get a gift to myself, you know. I got the watch and by using the check I got and still left the store with change. Highly recommend to all my friends and will return to get a gift for my daughters graduation coming up in May. Frank. Pros: Great prices, selection, service more

horrible experience 10/2/2009

They gave me a price on buying my silver coins, I delivered the coins the next day, and in spite of the market being up every day that week......and after 30 minutes of inspection and counting.....he pretended to make a phoine call and said ""oops, the market is down, the price will be 10 cents less per coin"". This would represent a drop in the silver market of 66 cents per oz...NEVER HAPPENED!! He ripped me off $46.80!\r not much money, but on a class action suit, would total thousands of dollars he stole from sellers. Pros: conveniently located Cons: crooks...deceptive...ruthless ripoffs more

Wouldn't recommend it for those wanting to sell jewelry. 3/14/2009

I saw their ""sell your gold"" ad on the local newspaper and decided to sell some jewelry pieces. A seemingly nice woman examined the items with a magnifying lens and then tested everything by scratching every piece on a stone and dropping a chemical solution on it. This one ring I knew for certain was 18k (It'd belonged to my mother), the jeweler valued as 14k. I disagreed and she tested again, verifying that it was indeed 18k! That's when I had the first bad gut feeling. She then took the jewelry to her boss and came back with some quotes. I decided to sell all but one of the items, which she said had synthetic rubies but I could swear were real (Turns out I may be right. I took it to another jewelry store and with just one look the guy firmly told me it was real. I will be taking it to a certified gemologist later). After cashing the check and buying some groceries, I arrive home and see that the store left a message on my answering machine. I call them and this one lady tells me, in sum, that the gold was ""not good"" and that they would call the police if I didn't return their check. I was really furious when I heard that. To be threatened as if I were some sort of criminal! Not only that, imagine if I didn't have the money right away to compensate for what I'd already spent; I'd be in a really horrible situation because of a jeweler who can't properly evaluate jewelry!!!! They told me that one of the items was gold plated and wasn't solid (at least that's what I understood from the ordeal, they didn't really explain it). I suspected it wasn't of the best quality but I thought it would be gold because it had ""14k"" engraved on the back. They said all my other items were ""real gold"". I returned their money in cash, they returned all the jewelry and voided the entire transaction. This one guy (who I think was the owner?) looked upset and didn't even apologize, as If I were some sort of con artist. At least he had the decency to pay the $5 fee I incurred when cashing their check (Probably because I sounded seriously upset over the phone). If you're thinking about selling your old jewelry, I'd recommend going to an experienced certified jewelry appraiser (ask to see the certificate), getting the correct estimated value for your jewelry and selling it on e-bay or someplace else. Especially if you have jewelry that was given to you as a gift or old pieces left to you by your family and can't tell if it's plated or what kind of gold they are. Do your research first, don't make the mistake I did and go for the first ad you see!! Pros: Nice selection of watches, bracelets and necklaces. Cons: Can't conduct appraisals properly. more

High Quality and Professional Service 1/29/2009

I have dealt with Fountain Jewlers for the past 12 years. Many of the items I purchased were of a higher value than what I paid for. Over the years, I have purchased Rolex watches, diamond jewlery, and Gold. I have even had them duplicate a Professional Championship Hockey ring which was damaged. Wherther it is something you want ""custom made"" or a watch from the showcase, I would highly recommend this establishment. I drive over 150 miles to purchase from them. Pros: High Quality and Professionalism Cons: Distance I have to travel more

beware ! 8/5/2008

I was unfortunate to have purchased a watch from them, they had to send it, and so I paid in advance.\r Despite all necessary documentation and receipts, and numerous requests they failed to post it.\r I did make an official complaint, and got my money back eventually. My personal experience with Fountain Jewelers is extremely negative, and I advice future customers to be extremely aware of this business.\r more
