Try DUCK at Exotic Thai 11/8/2010

I've been to Exotic Thai a couple of times now. The staff is super friendly. The drinks are great. And the food is superb. This is definitely not your average hole in the wall, rather, it's a cute restaurant with sharp contemporary decor, perfect for a date, a late afternoon lunch, or even a small birthday party. Even the details, down to the menu descriptions, show how much love and attention is paid to the dining experience. If you live in the neighborhood, or simply are looking for a nice and quiet dining experience, you've gotta check out Exotic Thai.\r Good dishes:\r - Calamali: Fresh squid deep fried and served with sweet chili sauce\r - Drunken noodle: Stir fried really well and not oily \r - Yellow chicken curry: Liked the creaminess of the curry and the taste, don't worry about the spicyness.. it s just right\r *****the best of the best dish of Exotic thai is\r Tammarine Duck- Roated duck with sweet and sour souce....what a match!!!! Perfect, can't missed\r \r \r \r more

i love ya food !!!!! 11/8/2010

This place always impress me every time I visit them, the orders are pretty quick as if we called them ahead of time, the ingredients they used are fresh you can tell right away. The Coconut Chicken Soup a hot coconut milk with white meat chicken, lemon grass, lime juice, my fav cilantro, fresh mushrooms and greeen onion if you are still deciding what to order first Coconut Chicken soup is the answer, then combine it with Green Papaya Salad with tomato, fresh papaya, crushed peanut and a lime dressing, and then an entrées match for that one is PAD THAI SHRIMPS, the padthai sauce here is very tasty and yummy, eat while it s hot, the noodles are so soft in a lot of sauce. it s not too sweet and good smell of tammarine which make it a little sour, so wonderful. And then of course you can't eat all of these delicious entrees without the Thai Iced Tea.Perfection, and they're not too creamy but they're sweet. I like it. Don't take my work for it, try them ASAP. Thank you.\r \r more

The Saddest Pad Thai 8/17/2010

I was thrilled when Exotic Thai opened in Lithonia, because usually I have to drive all the way to Decatur to get Pad Thai or Pad See Ew or any Thai dish. I was also apprehensive; new restaurants are a risk. And It's no fun to splurge on a Sunday lunch only to be disappointed by the food and out of ten dollars.\r \r It was Sunday though and I had a deperate craving for Thai food. I usually judge a Thai restaurant by how good their Pad Thai is. It's a common dish, so it should reflect the potential quality of other dishes. You know, setting the bar pretty low and working my way up.\r \r The servers were polite and quick. I recieved a complimentary baskets of shrimp chips soon after I arrived. They were a delicious and promising sign.\r \r When my Pad Thai arrived and I wafted away the steam I was a little shocked. The Pad Thai was bright pink. The noodles were pink. The chicken was pink. The tofu was pink. And the peanuts were crumbles of pink. I tried to remain positive. Maybe the chef had a signature ingredient that turned his Pad Thai pink to distinguish it from others? *doubt*\r \r It tasted as pink as it look. The saccharine sauce tasted very much like the sauce from sweet and sour chicken you get at your local cheap-Chinese food place.\r The noodles were rubbery and I had to chew carefully. After a couple bites I called over my waitress concerned that perhaps I'd gotten the wrong order, or maybe the cook was having an off day, or anything other than that this mess was their very best version of Pad Thai. \r \r ""Yes, ma'am. That is how we normally make it.""\r ""Have you had Pad Thai before?""\r ""Pad Thai is very sweet ma'am. It's a sweet dish.""\r ""Have you had it here before?""\r ""I am sorry ma'am. Pad Thai is sweet.""\r \r So, there you go. There Pad Thai always taste like mall food. Except unlike mall food it's $10.00 on Sunday and you never sampled it on a toothpick. If that had been the case though, I definitely would have found another lunch to splurge on.\r \r more
