Decent store and good service 11/11/2011

I'm not sure what all the fuss about this store is. The exotic store seems very clean and the workers are very helpful. And the puppies store down the street is the same. It does smell but its a bunch of puppies who will go to the bathroom whenever they please. But I always see the workers cleaning and making sure the animals are clean and happy. The workers and animals seem to know each other well so you know the animals are loved and cared for or else they wouldn't act in that way. more

Luv them! 6/10/2011

I have bought 3 puppies from Exotic..I've always walked out happy with the service and my pups! I now own a yorkie and two chihuahuas that have NEVER given me problems health or behavioral wise..I will only buy my pups from here, and I would recommend them in a second! My pups and I wuv them! more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE 2/14/2011

sick pets, dirty store, expired food, rude owner, terrible conditions. Only good reviews here are from owner, who I sued but I lost case bc he knows the judge and ppl @ court house. He is a terrible man, should be punished for poor treatment of animals, lack of compassion, he buys items from ppl who steal things from other pet stores DO NOT BUT ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT more

Needs to be SHUT DOWN! 1/29/2011

I wish i could put no starts for this place. I went to buy fish but walked out with nothing when i saw he had huge fish in a small 10 gallon fish. This place has a few fish living like this. HORRIBLE..and the customer service is even worse. the young guy who works there with the tattoos on his arm has NOOOO experience with saltwater..just a horrible place all around more

Do NOT buy!! NEEDS to be SHUT DOWN 12/28/2010

WORST WORST WORST pet shop!! Puppies Puppies Puppies is their new store across the street and they sell sick puppy mill puppies! I bought a puppy and in 2 days he was in the hospital with pneumonia. He was there for a week and it cost me thousands of dollars to help save him. According to all the reviews I read it looks like all his dogs seem to be sick. Lou knows the laws like the back of his hand. He would only give us the price of the dog back because according to the puppy lemon law that is all we are entitled to. This whole situation was a nightmare and so heartbreaking. He could care less about these animals. He is a low life. We need to get this pet store shut down. Anyone interested in helping?! We need to do something about this. It's not fair. DO NOT BUY FROM EXOTIC PET WAREHOUSE or PUPPIES PUPPIES PUPPIES! more

Unbelievable 10/12/2010

Just so everyone knows.When going to this store check expiration dates alot of the items this guy sells are WAY past the sale date.I would not advise using your credit card there either.The store owner truly is a crook he falsifies the health documents for his dogs and illegally administers shots to the dogs yet has NO license to do so.Check the freezer btw it's packed with dead animals and his workers are all off the books he has only a few on so that the irs doesnt find out about this.Just ask to see some of the workers papers like that fat mexican guy in the back he definitely has none.Just look I bet if someone reported him to the proper authorities and stayed on them something will be done about this place. more

DISGUSTING 9/16/2010

Omg!!! Today I went to this so called pet shop and was so shocked that I am going to make it my business to notify the proper authority about this place. You can clearly see that these are sick puppy mill animals. The money hungry owner, Lou keeps these poor animals in tiny cases that are filthy. He was so pushy when it came to trying to sell us one of his puppies. I thought he was going to hold me hostage until I agreed to buy a puppy. Please stay away from this place!!!! more

Our puppy died after TWO days!!! 4/26/2010

Good: I can't believe this place is allowed to stay in business. Imagine your child, who has asked for a puppy since she knew how to speak... being traumatized learning the puppy "went to heaven". The owner is a crook who sells sick dogs! I want to call the Humane Societies of Westchester on this money hungry loser.. Bad: How about when my husband came back with the poor dead puppy and the owner just threw him in the freezer!!! Not even apologetic! No remorse. Nothing.. Improvements: I would love to see them shut down but when you sell little heart beats at bargain basement prices, it's not likely.. Other: We begun our search for a new puppy chihuahua this time through a breeder! Not some schlock house that sells Puppy Mill poor souls that don't stand a chance. I ONLY GAVE ONE STAR JUST TO GET THIS POSTED!!!. more

BEWARE!!!!!!!!! 4/10/2010

Terrible place. I bought my dachshund from there a few years ago. I have since found out that our doxie came from one of the WORST puppy mills in Raymondville, MO. My doxie and her brother (both bought at the same time) both have problems with their eyes....they don't produce tears and they require eye drops 4 x a day. We love these dogs more than anything but BEWARE of this store! The puppies DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT come from local breeders. They are from puppy mills! Those poor dogs. It's disgusting, truly disgusting. more

this place should be shut down 2/28/2010

Good: it had some very interesting looking fish that looked like they were probably brought here illegally.. Bad: Some puppies were in dirty (like no one cleaned the feces) metal cages without any bedding (just exposed bars beneath their feet), and they definitely looked sick and depressed. There were fish that were in very cramped tanks. There was one that looked like it couldn't even turn around and another floating, partially rotted in an empty tank. In one dark corner, there was a cage on the floor that had about 40 Deegus piled ontop of one another.. Improvements: Please provide pets with humane conditions to live in, and if my suspicions are correct, no puppy mills or illegal exotics please!. Other: If you have any compassion for animals, don't purchase anything here. Do your research so you won't get a pet that is sick and will die a few weeks later.. more

The owner is a sleezebag 11/18/2009

The owner brags about selling 300 puppies a year. That's 300 puppies that he buys from a puppy mill. http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/puppy_mills/ His store is dirty, and he keeps large dogs in small cages for weeks and weeks. They never see the light of day. They never get walked. They pee and poop where they sleep. Did you know that puppies/dogs naturally don't potty where they sleep? It's true, but the puppies there don't have a choice. You can count on not being able to potty train the pups from this store because they will pee in the house because that's what they're used to. more

I love Exotic pet Warehouse 6/14/2009

The first time I went to this store I was in love, not only was educated on the saltwater fish I was buying if i had any problem with a fish dying Lue the owner worked with me in resolving any problems.Also if I had any fish that I wanted he would order it for me.I never met an owner who would take such interest in all his products.I tell you one thing this place has better quality of fish and better prices then petland!!!Outstanding Staff this store is definitely the place you could get your money's worth!! Unhealthy Animals 4/22/2009

Store is gross , owner has no clue about his livestock, dogs play in there on crap, Fish die after a week , Every dog sold gets kennel cough,Stock looks like its been there since the turn of the century .. Health department must be getting paid off if he's still open. more

great place to shop 10/5/2006

as a first time aquarium keeper i've had great experiences at Exotic Pet Warehouse. The staff really tries to help and not just sell you something. they are honest about the fish and they are willing to explain which fish get along and which fish can not be in the same tank, which is great when some fish are not the simple $1.00 goldfish. Soon as i start to brave the more expensive world of salt water, this is the only store i will be going to. AND more important, i have not seen the cruelly treated painted fish ever sold in the store. more
