Greatest Gymnastics School out there. Hands down. 4/6/2012

I've been going to Ellis gym for about 9 years. It's literally the only place i want to be. The price for one session for 9 weeks is so inexpensive and my mom loves it. Instructors are amazing. Their funny, experienced, know what they're teaching, nice etc. They'll push you until you improve or get it. They have an open gym for anyone to go just for 7$ a person on Thursday nights and it;s amazing for me because its right after my class and keeps me practicing. I've learned so much and its been so fun in the process ! When you first come it smells like feet. But since I've been going for so long it doesn't smell to me... but wouldn't every gym smell? The gym is a little small but its amazing with all the equipment. COME HERE. Everyone & Everything will keep you moving, learning and having fun ! more

Discouraging 11/9/2011

Dear Parents, Overall I thought my girls developed good balance, strength and agility while at Ellis. However, the male instructor the girls had, and apparently have to renew with, was a bit more rigid and unenthusiastic for 5 and 7 year old kids in my opinion. He showed no effort to make things fun and light. My girls went from excelling and enjoying things the first year, to being turned off by the instructor the second year. Other parents shared the same concern. When I called to inform the school that my girls would be taking a hiatus for one session, I was surprised by the response. I got an abrasive admin showing no gratitude or understanding, and ultimately hanging up on me. Granted I've been made aware that I may get this reaction but still was in disbelief. I don't know how someone can run a business this way, especially as I had HOPED the girls would go back. Do yourself a favor and join another school that appreciates one's business and makes the kids priority - not simply cashing one's checks and hanging up on (former) customers. more

Encouraging instructors 12/2/2008

Mty two kids love going to gymnastics! The classes keep them moving and allow them to use all the equipment during the session. The instructors, especially George, are very supportive and enouraging to them. I would recommend this gym. Pros: Encouraging instructors. Cons: Smelly smelly smelly...... more

dave is the best! great place to go! 6/30/2008

WOW! Ellis is the best gym I've ever gone to. I go every thursday night for open gym, and my friend erin goes for classes. Pros: trampoline, foam pit, bars, tumbling, great coaches, spotters, price, easy instuction, AWESOME! Cons: smelly (but dont all gyms smell like feet?) more

Great instructors! 6/6/2008

We've had great experiences at Ellis. Sure, the playgym sessions are chaotic but that's why the kids love it. I highly recommend Ellis gymnastics for lessons. All the kids are constantly moving...they are not waiting in line for 5 minutes to do one tumbling pass. Sign up early though...there's a reason that the waiting list is so long! Pros: top notch instructors Cons: the place is a bit smelly more

Would Not Recommend to Anyone 5/10/2008

The worst in my opinion. We went on a free play day and EVERYONE - staff and parents were so rude. Lets say that unless you are white upper class you are not welcome. Cons: staff, whole atmosphere more

best coaching around 2/28/2008

Ellis gym is a wonderful place for any level gymnast. If your child shows interest try it out. The coaches are great with children and really enjoy what they are doing. I have found in sports some parents feel that their child deserves all the attention from the coach. If this is your attitude then Ellis is not for you. Every child is equal.... Keep up the good work guys. more

Avoid on Daily Basis 5/30/2007

I honestly didn't like this gym. The coaches pushed forward and my daughter hated it. I do NOT recommend this gym because they only pay attention to the advanced children. Also, they were looking for money from me every time a walked in. We currently moved to another nearby gym and my daughter loves it. more

Dave Rocks 5/28/2002

I was a competitive gymnast for 13 years....4 of which were under the supervision of Dave Ellis. He was made to be a gymnastics coach! I learned more with Dave in 4 years than I learned collectively thought the 13 years. He has sent gymnasts to some of the best colleges in the country. If I were to do it all over again, all of my 13 years of gymnastics would have been spent with Dave. What a talent for coaching he has!!!!! I worked out a while ago, before the old ellis burnt down...I hear the new facilities are even better than before! Pros: small classes, competitive, challenging more
