Love it 4/16/2006

I love El Porton. The white cheese dip is awesome. I get it for lunch with some tortilla chips and it is a meal by itself. I also like the service. The prices are cheap and the food is good, you can not beat that. It is well worth trying out. more

Hits the spot 8/19/2005

I eat at El Porton at least once every 2 weeks. The food is always hot and tastes great. The margaritas are some of the best in Memphis. The salsa is also just the right intensity. And the prices are low as well. The menu contains so many items that it can be confusing trying to decide on what to order. I'm usually content getting a bean burrito, cheese enchilada and a chicken soft taco on the side! more

I wouldnt say that this is the best mexican food in town. Food is ok but not great. Bar is nice- magarita selections. It's cheap. it's fast. It's for college students. Waiters spoke little English. Always a good stop 8/13/2005

I always like to try new restaurants but when I run out of options, I can always depend on El Porton to dish out quality mexican. My favorite thing here are the chicken burritos. Their salsa is second to none, which is a definite draw for me here. Both the Germantown and Cordova location are excellent. more

Porties is the place to go! 7/27/2005

If you are in the mood for good mexican food, fast and cheap...Porties is the place to go. Make sure to try at least one Margarita and the cheese dip of course. No matter what you order, your food is at the table in minutes flat! I don't think I have ever waited more then 10 minutes for a full tables worth of food before! Thier prices are great and the drinks are even better. The Poplar location also has a great outdoor patio for those cool summer days! more
