I set up my savings account at ECCU when I was six years old (with my mom), almost 20 years later and a few banks accounts here and there, and it is still my main (and favorite) bank. They offer free checking and a minimum account balance of $5 (great for college kids who aren't able to keep a few hundred in the reserves). They have great interest rates and fantastic service. ECCU has many locations, with new ones opening all the time. However, they don't offer many drive-thru locations, but wait time is usually very minimal even on Friday afternoon/evening.
