I Have been going to edos for my birthday and on regular family dine out nights for over 5 years now, and must say this place never gets old!! I absolutely love it here! The food combined with the catering staff and awesome chefs is a great experience every single time! I recently went here to celebrate my cousins birthday and we had a blast as always!! Edo's and birthdays from my kids to my husband close friends and relatives have become a tradition for me! Thank you edo's for always going above and beyond! I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to have the ultimate dine out experience! more

Good Food, Rushed Service 6/1/2010

Food was better than expected for a hibachi show restaurant, with the exception of the fried rice which did not have any vegetables and was not cooked properly. [I got the steak & lobster combo for $29 +$3 for fried rice]. Pros: Children Friendly, Good Child Birthday Restaurant Cons: Rushed Service, Fried Rice more

GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!! 10/1/2009

this is the best hibachi restaurant in the city. It is 10 times better than Benni Hanna's. IT IS A MUST GO!!!!!! Pros: Everything more

Good Hibachi 6/2/2009

This was a good hibachi spot to go to especially if you dont want to drive to the city. It gets very crowded but there you are seated quickly. The food was good but not better than Ohana Japanese Steak house in City Island. Pros: Really Lively Cons: Not as entertaining as other hibachi spots more

Woah 5/26/2009

The best japanse restraunt 2/3/2009

Our family has been to Edo's any where between 75-100 in the last 15-20 years. We have used them to celebrate many birthdays. We truly enjoy this place. The hosts, chiefs and all employees there make your visit very enjoyable. The food is incredible especially for all that you get. The employees there know our name by heart and always welcome us knowing our name. I would definitly recommend this place to anyone for any occasion. Pros: Always pleasure experience Cons: I really do not think there is one more

Great for birthdays! 3/31/2008

This has been and always will be one of my favorite restaurants! I have been going to EDO's since I was about 7 and miss it so due to relocation. The wait can be long but there is a bar where you can sit and have a few drinks while waiting. Yes you may have to sit with strangers while you enjoy the good food, chef and show (watching the chef make your food is a show in itself) but it'sgood b/c you get to meet new people, sometimes from around the world. The best part is when you tell the host that someone in your party is having a birthday! All the chefs come out and sing Happy Birthday in Japanese (sui, sui, sui,....hahaha) and they take your picture and you get to bring it home to show off as a great memory of great food and entertainment. Even other diners start to sing even if they do not know you! Excellent place to start off a first date due to plenty of conversation pieces availble to help break the ice! Can't wait to go back to NY to eat there again and will take my kids there as mine have also taken me and my sister there too! Pros: The Happy Birthday song is the best! Cons: The wait is a little long but worth it! more

The best around 10/20/2007

I went to EDO for the first time with my hudsband this week and we both enjoyed ourselves very much. The host were friendly and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful time. We have recomended EDO's to our friends. Pros: Thumbs up. Cons: The food is great more

Really fun, GREAT food & the nicest chefs! 10/26/2006

Edo's is a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside has plenty of ambiance for what you're paying. If you go with a good attitude, you'll have a good time. Very nice place for a date, since there would be plenty of conversational points. more

best hibachi 5/18/2006

We went to celebrate a friends b-day @ EDOs. It was great all the chefs come out and sung Happy B-day in Japanesse, gave em a piece of cheesecake and took a group pic. The food was awesome and the chefs put on a great show. You get a great bargain too because they give you an appetizer eentre dessert AND free refills... great place! Cant wait to go back =) Pros: Food, Free Refills, Dessert Cons: Waiting time more

Go! 10/30/2005

I recently went to Edo's to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a great time...the chef was awesome! The drinks were great! Be warned though...if your entire party is not there they will not seat you and they will give away your table. Overall a great experience! Pros: Food, Chef, Drinks Cons: host is a bit rough more

I am hooked! 8/7/2005

We celebrated my cousin's birthday at EDO's on Saturday. The food and service was absolutely fantastic!!!! I can't wait to go back (and I will REAL soon) to eat the great shrimp and lobster!!! Pros: food, service more

Edo is a must 6/6/2005

It has everything you expect from this type of Japanese restaurant. The food is excellent and the attentive staff really takes good care of you to ensure a nice dinner. The drinks were a surprise in that they were prepared very well and is more typical of a nice New York City bar. Pros: service, drinks more
