This is a private community, but you can book the get away package as a non-member. If you love Hilton head but not the crowds and lines you have to check out this island. You take a short ferry ride from Hilton Head which is included in the price. We watched Dolphins jumping and birds diving for fish each ride. The island is so pristine and there is wildlife everywhere. did I mention that there are no cars so it is incredibly peaceful and quiet.
We walked on the beach for 2 miles and saw 3 people on a perfect summer day. There is not much for nightlife and the food at the club is so-so (and pricey). However you are always a 5 minute boat ride to Harbor Town or the ferry to your car on Hilton Head which leaves every hour.
The 29 hole golf course is one of the best I have ever played, and there were no waits for tee times. My wife played tennis each day and there is a great little gym there as well. We also took a kyak tour which picked us up right at the dock. If you are looking for a unique get away that makes you really feel like you are away from it all try this place.
