Don't hire this company... 5/8/2012

I would not recommend this company.. I first hired them to fix my furnace a few months ago, they diagnoised several problems, one right after another ( the furnace is 14 years old). It was dirty, that was all that was wrong with it, but it cost me over $300 for them to clean it, they proceeded to tell me that is was my dirty dryer vent that was the problem, so a week or so later they came and cleaned the dryer vent ( using a shop vac with a longer hose), that was $148. I felt the prices were outrageous, but since my heater worked I didn't say anything. well, stupid me.. my AC wasn't putting out enough cold air recently, so my Husband called and told it would be a $71 service fee. Jason came out and said that there was a freon leak, and the coil needed to be replaced $1300, I told him there was no way we were paying that, so then he (Jason) said that it was a small leak and he could refill it. He then asked me to come and see how dirty it was, and for another outrageous fee, he coulc clean it. I told himk that his company had just cleaned it a few months ago. He said,""They didn't clean this"". I asked him what I had paid for then? He didn;t know. I also told him that I recently had sinus surgery, was on a breathing machine with medications 3 x daily, and that I had just been allergy tested and had started on shots. I told him that I was most allergic to dust mites, and that I had just had my house deep cleaned fot this problem. After he left I started getting a headache, I fugured it was from the cleaning solution he had used, but day after day, I had another sinus headache. I hadn't had any for weeks. 5 days later I go to do laundry and see that he had not put the filter back in the furnace.. I called him, and he said that it was too dirty to put back in, it was only in for 11 days. I told him if that was the case, why didn't he put in the new one that was 1 foot away, he said he didn't see it, I then asked him the biggest question of all, WHY DIDN'T HE TELL ME. He said he was going to call me..HE DIDN'T. I didn;t even get an apology, and best of all, he tried to sell me duct cleaning while having this conversattion.. $230 dollars later for cleaning again, and another Dr. visit.. I have never been this dissatidfied with a company, either by their work, dishonesty, unaccountability, and astronomical prices..My son had his Ac freon done last week, 1/2 the price...it his was completely empty. dO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. i WONDER WHO THEY PAID TO WRITE THE GOOD REVIEWS.. AWESOME COMPANY!!! 9/23/2009

Called to get my A/C fixed this summer, I was so pleased with them! From the time they answered the phone, to the time the technician left my house was a pleasant experience to work with them! I highly recommend them! He fixed our A/C, gave me tips on how to keep it running efficiently, and even cleaned up after himself! Wow! Impressive! Thanks again, I'll definitely call Kearsley's again! Pros: QUICK, HONEST, FRIENDLY SERVICE more

Use a different company 3/4/2009

We called because the button on our ice maker kept sticking. The tech came out and "fixed" the issue, and made a laundry list of other items that needed fixed. We figured we would get it all done so our fridge would be like new. A week later, the button on the ice maker stuck again, and this time it blew the circuit board (another $300 fix). I called and they tech out and he said it was an unrelated problem, and proceeded to charge me another service fee. When I got the bill, I was furious, and called the manager who agreed to credit my account. Six weeks later I called back and he told me he had agreed to no such thing, and that I needed to pay the bill. We went back and forth and after basically telling me I was lying he agreed again to credit the account. Very dishonest. more

Choose another Company 3/3/2009

We called because the button on our ice maker kept sticking. The tech came out and ""fixed"" the issue, and made a laundry list of other items that needed fixed. We figured we would get it all done so our fridge would be like new. A week later, the button on the ice maker stuck again, and this time it blew the circuit board (another $300 fix). I called and they said that they warranty their work and sent the tech out again. The tech said it was an unrelated problem, and proceeded to charge me another service fee- I didn?t realize I was signing up for another fee for a warranty issue. When I got the bill, I was furious, and called the manager who agreed to credit my account. Six weeks later I got a letter telling me my account was being sent to collections, and I called back and the manager told me he had agreed to no such thing, and that I needed to pay the bill. We went back and forth and after him basically telling me I was lying he agreed again to credit the account. Explain to me how if I call about the button sticking and they say they ?fixed? it and charge me, how when the button sticks again a week later it can be an unrelated issue. Very dishonest. They do not stand behind their work. Choose another Company. Pros: Quick response Cons: Dishonest more

Stay away from this service company 1/7/2009

Totally dissatisfied with this company. I called and asked them to come give me a quote for what it would take to repair and/or completely replace my A/C system (it was 15 years old). Apparently they sent a technician and not a sales person, who asked for $60 just to come to my door (they never told me this on the phone). Then he tore the thermostat off my wall, claimed it was the fault, opened the furnace and told my wife it would cost another $300 to ""clean"" the dust off the inside of the A/C system and that would fix the problem, in addition to replacing the thermostat. She called me and I said no, then called their management about the $60 fee for him to break my A/C system. The technician also coerced my wife into signing a receipt for $60 by refusing to leave until she signed it, and also left the thermostat off the wall and wires hanging out of the wall. The manager ""Kay"" proceeded to be snide and rude to me, stating that it was ""soooo hard to put the door back on the furnace."" He insisted I had to pay the $60 fee, which became $90 because the Technician opened my furnace and broke my thermostat.\r \r Never, ever trust this company, they are crooks. I paid the money, and found another A/C repair company. Not only was the thermostat NOT broken, but the A/C coil was plugged inside and cleaning the dust off it like Kearsley wanted to do would have done NOTHING. Chuck Garner @ VERCO is whom I recommend, out of SLC. Cons: Poor service, inexperienced technicians, no customer valued management more

Pleasant, Possitive, Professional 3/7/2008

D Kearsley Service Center was recommended to me several years ago and I've used them ever since. They've done small swamp cooler repairs and more recently are helping me keep the old thing going for a few more years and they're the place I'll go when it's time for a replacement. I was actually up on the roof with one of their technicians a couple years ago - he was a young guy - maybe 19 at the most and I was really impressed with his knowledge, professionalism, and creative problem solving. He wasn't giving me one option he really thought through the possibilities and explained them well. He was a more professional and thorough technician than some twice his age and it's been my experience that all the people at D Kearsley's are like that. They've happily and knowledgably talked to me about different options, and possibilities and they're not at all pushy. They've recently started doing plumbing work and were able to save the day by coming out same-day on a Friday afternoon to check a leak so we didn't have to deal with it over the weekend. I'm very happy with this company and highly recommend.\r \r P.S.: Seems D Kearsley's first name is an 'inappropriate word' so I had to shorten it. Pros: Pleasant, knowledgable, professional, reliable - I've never needed them to come back on a repair Cons: I think they're a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. more

washer nightmares 11/9/2005

I had a hard time with a high efficiency washer. I had to call out the repair guys 7 times in 2 months. They tried everything to repair this washer. They didn't get mad at me or make me feel stupid. Eventually I was referred to the manufacturer because of the warranty. The washer had a manufacturing defect and there was nothing the repair boys could do. I ended up with a new washer from the company ;) We have bought stove coils from their shop. They have a lot of parts and things there to fix broken machines. They are pretty reasonable with pricing. They have a small parking area. I would work with them again. more
