My wife and I chose the Deer Harbor Inn for our honeymoon and were dissapointed from the moment we arrived. We didn't feel welcomed at all. For the kind of money charged, it seem reasonable to expect excellent service and this was just barely service at all. If you are just looking for a place close to Deer Harbor to stay it's fine - If you are looking for someplace special however, you should look elsewhere. Most of the cottages' views are of the parking lot with a ""peek-a-boo"" view of the harbor, if that. The grounds were not well kept, and all the little details were not tended to. For example, there were no wine glasses in our room, just paper cups. At half the price it MIGHT be a good value.... Pros: clean, vacancy, last minute Cons: , poor service, overpriced more

  • The Scene
Orcas Island is a place where the world revolves around the simple pleasures in life, and this two-story log cabin lodge complemented by four cottages is a perfect example of this laid-back lifestyle. It sits in a peaceful, century-old apple orchard atop a bluff overlooking the harbor, and the high point of a day here is tucking away with a good book or taking a leisurely stroll.

    The Details
The log cabin lodge is light and airy, constructed from natural woods, with eight rooms that feature handmade log furniture. Some of the rooms also include fireplaces, and lodge guests can enjoy access to a six-person hot tub. The four cottages all have log beds, fireplaces and individual hot tubs. The inn is also known for its restaurant. With its great views, it's a long-time island favorite among locals and tourists.
