Dean's Wig Villa

I will never forget how badly this business treated my mother when she got breast cancer back in 1994. Mom told them she needed a wig. ""Did your hair come out?"" they asked. Mom said no, she had not needed chemo, just a mastectomy. Mom told them she was not bald at all, just had very, very thin hair, and she had heard that they provided wigs to cancer survivors to boost their esteem. Well, you'd have thought Mom tried to steal a wig! They started yelling at her and got all aggressive, saying that if she had not lost ALL of her hair from chemo, she was not entitled to get a wig! Then they tried to get her to buy a very expensive, overpriced wig, but she wouldn't do it. She was so humiliated, she was crying as she left the store. I was with her, and I still feel her humiliation to this day. (She died 14 years later cancer-free, of pneumonia.)\r more

When my mother was losing her hair during chemo treatment, this is where we went to get her a wig. She was terribly traumatized and really having a terrible time with the whole ordeal. The ladies there were so nice to her and made her feel better - but more importantly, they helped her feel like a woman again. I am very grateful to the ladies there for helping my mother get through her last days in a more dignified manner because that was very important to her. Pros: Easy to get to, ample parking, compassionate customer service Cons: Expensive - but worth it. more

I have been a customer of Dean's for 8 years. I have Alopecia. What I appriciate more than anything about Deans is that she styles and hand stitches my wig, if it needs it, for free and that is what makes it look like my real hair. She takes extra time for people like me with real problems. If you are having Cancer treatment or other health problems (and most of her customers have some real hair problems) then you know what I am talking about. She is very caring and relates well to anyone with health problems like mine. She is a good person and I would recommend her to anyone who is suffering with hair related problems of any kind. She will make you look good and she genuinly cares. Go see her and youll know what I am talking about. I went to Dean`s looking to buy my very first hairpiece, just for fun and glamour. The woman at the store was nice enough, and I decided on a 3/4 wig. She told me that the synthetic hair would be easier to manage, so I went ahead and purchased it. When she told me it was going to be $180, I thought it was a little steep, but still a good investment, seeing as how I would get to used it for a long while, as long as I took care of it. I pre paid for it, and the lady assured me they would call in 2 weeks when it came in. After the two week mark, I still hadnt heard word and was starting to get nervous because I had already paid for it, I stopped over to ask, and the lady was really rude and informed me that if they didnt call me , it wasn`t in. I finally recieved it a few days later, and was really happy with it for about a week. I was online trying to find some shampoo and conditioners to take care of it, because after 2 weeks of wearing it on and off, all the curl had fallen out and it was starting to look like a barbie`s hair does after you brush it too much. Anyway, I was online and came across the same wig for literally 100 LESS THEN I PAID FOR IT on numerous websites. Same style, color, and everything. PLEASE BEWARE!! I should have researched a bit more, but I was taken advantage of, DON`T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!! more
