Outstanding Italian Food 1/13/2012

Wow. Everything they make is great. Every dish I've ever ordered there was fantastic. I originally come from an area with a lot of small family-owned Italian restaurants, where I'm positive they have old Italian grandmas in the kitchen. Daniels meets and often exceeds that excellent quality. I also highly recommend their catering. We ordered Chicken Parm. to feed about 25 people for a lunch and were absolutely blown away. more

RUDE, UNACCOMMODATING, NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY 12/4/2011

I will never go there again! We went there last night with reservations @ 5:00. The main dining room was half empty & they sat us & in the back in the private room. It was packed & the room was giving off an echo. It was so loud I clearly heard all the conversations around me but I could not hear someone sitting next to me. My 3year old was literally covering her ears. I went to the front desk & asked very nicely to move to another table. Considering there were plenty of tables available I didn't think it would be a problem. The manager Seth rudely told me that was our reserved table & it is that or nothing. I asked about one of the many open tables that were available & he said they were all reserved. I asked if he could switch one of the reservations with our table & he said no that is your table & the only one we have available for you. I said it was too noisy so we were going to have to leave. He said goodbye & then him & then the staff literally laughed in our faces. I could not believe it! Btw, this was at 5:00 before the restaurant was even crowded & all of this occurred in front of my two small children. more

Favorite Italian food 12/14/2010

My family and I frequent Daniel's as well as his place in Raleigh, Spirits. The food is great, the atmosphere is a little busy but makes for a cozy family night out. more

Quality, Quantity, and Variety! 11/22/2010

My simplest review... There was not one thing that I didn't enjoy! Our meals were good, not great but good, and everything came out hot and fresh. Our deserts were ok, but were definitely the disappointment of the evening. I expected to be "wowed" by their deserts given the prices, however, they were just standard. My only other issue was that our server did get a little impatient and "snitty" with our party of 12 at times. However, her redeeming quality was this - she was very knowledgeable about the wine and food menus. The other servers that assisted her at times also seemed to be lacking that 1 key ingredient that makes a 5 star experience...personality. I will be going back, and hope to see more smiles next time =) more

I'll be back! 6/24/2010

I dined at Daniel's for the first time this week and was very impressed. The food was delicious. I love to cook so always try to find things I can't make while eating out. There were plenty!! I had the southwest ravioli with shrimp, delicious! And they actually make their own tiramisu, which was the best one I have ever had, and it's my favorite dessert! I went on a Wednesday and it was even crowded in the middle of the week (although it wasn't hard to get a table at all and the service was great) which shows me how popular this place is. Definitely recommended! Pros: great food, especially the tiramisu; great atmosphere Cons: nothing more

Best Italan Food in the Triangle 3/21/2010

Daniel's is my favorite place for Italian food in the Triangle. I go back for the Seafood Fra Diavlo time and time agan. The place is crowded, and a little loud but that is because the food is great. Pros: Great Food, reasonalbe prices Cons: hard to park more

Terrible 3/20/2010

This place is a circus. I like the circus but not when having dinner. If you want a more relaxing dinner experience, go to Chuck E Cheese. Food is subpar. Service is bush-league. Adding insult to injury, if you go to their web site to give feedback, they have a spam filter set so that no messages are allowed. I guess they've had too many irate customers try to contact them before! We will NEVER go back. Save time, save money, save the frustration and go anyplace other than Daniels. Pros: None whatsoever Cons: Service, atmosphere, food... I can go on. more

Great service, great food, great prices 3/8/2010

We go to both Daniels, the one in Apex and the one out on Main Street in Fuquay. Both are equal in service, food, and atmosphere. Everyone always greets you with a friendly smile and treats you like family. I cant say my favorite because I love everything on the menu. Some nights we will just go for apizza together and a bottle of wine and its the best!!! Pros: Service and fresh fresh food Cons: wish you didnt have to order salad seperate! more

Best Italian Food in the Triangle 11/11/2009

My favorite thing about Daniel's (as other reviewers have mentioned) is the large menu selection. If I feel like pasta, seafood, salad, pizza, chicken, etc., Daniel's has it and it's always delicious. I like a restaurant where I have a lot of choices and Daniel's is my favorite place to try something new--I'm never disappointed. Try it--I highly recommend. Pros: Large selection, great seafood pastas, desserts and wine Cons: none more

Great family restaurant 10/29/2009

My family really loves going to Daniel's. For those nights whereI don't feel like cooking and want great Italian food, we go to Daniel's. We would go even more often if it were up to my kids! They have a wide selection of food, which is great since I have a family full of picky eaters and everything we've tried is high quality. I highly recommend. Pros: Family-friendly, clean, delicious food that my kids enjoy Cons: N/A more

Wonderful Italian in Apex 10/20/2009

I really like Daniel's--I visit at least once a month. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and I love to try something new every time I visit. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated, and the food is top-notch. I recommend this place to my friends all the time. Pros: Wide variety of dishes, wine selection Cons: None that I can think of more

Service failure not concern of manager 10/8/2009

It was taking a long time for our food to come out. Two tables seated after us (one at least 15 min later) were both sered before our waitress though to check (my look at her when she served the second table probably reminded her). Some how the communication betwen the kitchen and the wait staff failed an our meals had to be remade owing to the time they sat. The waitress told us the manager was informed of the issue, yet he never came by to apologize for the problem. When we were leaving I asked to speak to the manager thinking I missed understood the waitress. Once he arrived, I informed of the problem and he basically said on yeah, sorry. Very disappointing. I doubt I will return, if you don't care about your customers' experience why return and risk another disappointment. Pros: Food was fine and waitress nice Cons: Food took forever to come out more

Really Nice for Lunch 9/17/2009

I stopped by Daniel's on my lunch break and got the grape, pear and bleu cheese salad. All of the ingredients were very fresh and the combination was unique. Can't wait to try out their other menu items. Pros: Wonderful grape, pear and bleu cheese salad, quick service Cons: N/A more

One of the best Italian restaurants in the Triangle 9/16/2009

I ordered the chicken piccata and my boyfriend ordered the lasagna, and both dishes were delicious. I also liked that the servers were friendly and helpful with recommendations when we couldn't decide what to order. Overall, great atmosphere, convenient location and fresh food. I'll definitely visit again! Pros: Friendly servers, great chicken piccata, convenient location Cons: none more

A Wonderful Surprise 8/25/2009

Being newer to the area, I was a little nervous to find out that my friends were taking me here for my birthday, especially after reading the post about the low health rating. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I think the calamari appetizer was the best I've ever had. Our server (an older gentleman) was very knowledgeable and professional. He had some great wine suggestions. All-in-all, a fantastic meal. And curiously, their rating was a 96, so maybe I misunderstood the posting claiming that it was low. Pros: Fresh entrees, great service, lots of choices for wine Cons: Not much parking more

OVERRATED 8/19/2009

What a terrible place. I have never been to a place that was rated well, and felt like I was a bum. This is the worst place I have been in my life. The food was not authentic at all. It looked like you headed alfredo up in the microwave five days after eating it. The oil and fat in the dish (veal canneloni) was awful. That, however, was the highlight of our night. When you are forced to sit in this circa 1950's building you can be overwhealmed by the smell and poor artwork on the walls at first. If you are able to overcome this, you will be presented by an entitled staff lead by the worst management I have ever seen. If you like to torture yourself I would reccomend this farce of a restaurant. In all honesty, I can't belive this place is open with their sanitation score. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN RALEIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Management, Decor, Food, Buisness Practice more

Feels Like Country Run By A Menevolent Dictator 8/6/2009

What a waste of time!!! Never heard of the place, but we had to eat and were on our way home down highway 55. WOW were amazed at how dingy and dated the decor was here. The food was OK, however, that is not the entire story. Our waitress, from Buffalo as we are as well, was actually quite attentive and charming. Other than that the experince went downhill from there. Our food took forever! We had a small table agianst a wall right near the kitchen and could hear the entire staff. The owner seemed bitter and vengeful as we could hear him speak to the female manager. On top of this unprofessionalism, we heard the service staff all night as well. All we could hear is how they disliked working there and how the owner and management did not like the way the night was going. I have never heard such open negativity in a public esablishment before. We did like the food but the experiance was not worth it. I would reccomend Daniel's for individuals that live a negative lifestyle and enjoy petty bickering because that is all we could focus on. It is too bad that another restaurant is poorly run because the food was actually rich and of decent quality. Pros: Food and Wine List Cons: Ownership, Managment, Building more

Great food but smokie 1/17/2009

I was at the Fuquay Resturant this weekend. I really loved my server and the food was great. I don't think it could have been beter if I made it myself. My only problem was that the resturant was smokie. It made my eyes burn. When I asked my server what was going on she said some of the spices used to make blackened items was causing the smoke. It was really bad. I hope that it is not always like this because I want to go back. I will give it another try but won't return if the smoke continues. Pros: Really great food and service Cons: Smoke coming from the kitchen more

Won't go back 12/18/2008

We went there recently and boy, is the service slow and unattentive (such as water refills). The food took a long time to get to our table, and it didn't taste all that good. The tomato suace is kind of metallic/acidic tasting - not pleasant. There are better places for Italian food. Also, the decor is cheesy, and the seating, booths, etc., are just low class feeling - like a chain panckae house or something. Pros: Close to where we live Cons: Parking, decor, food, service, noise more

Excellent Meal! 12/15/2008

I just finished reading thru some of the other reviews and was amazed at some of the opinions... Having said that, I recently had dinner at Daniels upon my brother's insistance and we had a wonderful experience. We had to wait for a while because we had a party of 7. The wait staff was WONDERFUL! Even before we were seated, the bartender and waiters made sure we were happy at the bar area. I have a 10 year old son, and he was a bit anxious because he was getting hungry, so they brought him some bread while we waited for our table. After we were seated, we had 2 waiters, one was training the other, which I thought was great! They were both very charming and very attentive. The food arrived promptly and was delicious, and I didn't find that it was over priced at all. I will be eating here again! Pros: Service and food Cons: Parking was difficult, bathroom wasn't very clean more
