Here is what you can expect when things go wrong at Mr. Lenz' establishment:\r

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 (approx 10 am) I called Mr. Lenz to see if he could rebuild my Mercedes Benz alternator by inspecting and installing new rebuild parts and return it to me ASAP. His answer was no-way. He only does a totally thorough teardown, inspection, cleanup and rebuild that takes time. No-Way. I asked if he had one on the shelf that I could purchase and he told me to bring in the old one and he could tell me then.\r

Approximately 4 pm I arrived at his shop and he took my alternator as a core, complete with pulley and fan and gave me a rebuilt replacement and installed what looked like my pulley and a fan that obviously had been repainted black (my fan had 265,000 miles on it). Good to this point.\r

I got home to install the new unit and the mounting holes were domestic and my bolts were larger metric. End of that replacement.\r
