D & K Automotive Repair

Just moved here from Boston area and my car needed a brake job. I read the reviews on this website, and decided to try them out. I called them to make an appointment and I was told to bring it right over and they would work on it now. Once I got there, they took it right in and had it done in less then two hours! Clean and organized shop, with professional staff. Great quality job done and at a fair price. Dan was a pleasure working with. D & K is now my new auto shop. more

Just had to replace the transmission on a 2008 Chrysler T&C...yes, only 4 years old...I know, I know. We went to the dealership first, who was not much help. D&K was hands above in service and honesty. I was amazed at how quickly they jumped on the job and got it done. This was our first time using D&K. So, new transmission, a great warranty, and a new auto shop for future use....finally someone we can trust! more

This place was amazing. They spoke with me on the phone multiple times answering all my insane questions-never once sounding frustrated or perturbed at me wanting answers over the phone, and they even joked around with me making a pretty bad situation better. The work was done quickly and I felt that they were being above and beyond honest with someone that they could have taken advantage of. They even provided me with recommendations for the extra cosmetic work that I wanted to have done. I am beyond happy that I found them and I am going to spread the word about finding a great auto repair group. Plus, the ""puppy"" in the office is so sweet. more

Of course these guys are cheap. They rent their building from daddy, so they don't have to pay as much as all the other professional shops. Be careful with these guys. more

I had an oil leak on my truck. I went online and found D&K. I called them and explained problem. I went to the shop 10 minutes later. My truck was on the rack 5 minutes after I arrived. They found the leak was only a small hole in the oil filter. They replaced the filter and changed a seal I needed changed, and all was done very quickly. The work was great and the cost was very reasonable! more

My automatic transmission was going fast. I googled transmission repair. Talked to several other repair shop's but I just felt more secure after I talked to Dan at D&K! I had no other reason to chose D&K over the others although I was glad I did! They repaired my transmission & some other issues most of which only charged for the part's. Dan always took the time to explain everything to me and I called with a lot of question's.I also had the opportunity to talk to some of their mechanic's they were obviously quite knowledgeable and felt right at home with all of them. I would recommend D&K to everyone for any repair's more

D & K automotive is the only place that I will take my vehicle ever again. I took my vehicle to them for broken motor mounts the same day I found out that they were broken. Not only did they fix it while I waited, but they saved me $200.00 (no joke) from what I was quoted from another company. Great prices, fast and friendly and most of all honest. If i could give them ten stars, I would. more

I took my car to D & K and told them the problems I was having at that time. It did not take any time before Dan and or a co-worker came over and checked out my car. They did an outstanding job in finding the problem and did not charge me one dime for the dianostics. I had a second situation with my car yesterday that took no time for them to fix. I like the way they allow you to interact and ask questions while your car is being fixed. It would be very hard for any other automotive shop to beat their prices and the quality of work. more

Our A/C Compressor and dryer were replaced for $260. We supplied the parts. Dan sent one of the guys to get a fuse that was missing and didn't charge us. Excellent of his company to schedule the job and do it in a timely manner. A/C in the Summer time is a MUST. It's a GMC Jimmy white 1996 4.3L engine! Easy to work on. Gave us Ice Tea while we waited. more

Dan was very helpful to me over the phone, lending advise before he even knew if I was going to bring my vehicle to his shop. He coordinated getting my car towed and repaired in one day. Time is money to me and he got my vehicle in and out quickly and was very honest and fair. Don't go by 1 negative review. Dan did a great job on the suspension work on my daughter's car and at almost 1/2 of what I was quoted at other Big Name places. Work was done great and on time. This is the only place around I will now take my vehicles and the only place I'll reccomend! This is the kind of mechanic you want not the kind you fear. Thanks Dan. more

I have never experienced a business this poor. Lowsy work, when the car broke down 1 hour after picking it up, they tried to blame me. Upon reviw THEY did not install a hose properly. Now I have a car that has overheated and is worthless and they refuse to accept responsibility.\r \r I have never been as angry at a person as i have been at this shop. I would never go there, I would never reccomend them. more

My name is Robin and I live in Cedar Park, Texas. I cannot say enough about what I experienced with Dan and D&K Auto Repair. I was told in November that my 2008 Nissan Altima needed a new engine. As a female, I was appalled at how disrespectful the handful of other places treated me. Basically like a dumb lady who probably never changed her oil. But not Dan. After I ordered an engine from Snyder's Salvage in Holland, Tx (another awesome place) I took my car in to Dan to have the work done. However, before he began, he took the time to research the problem and discovered that the PCV valve on this model had been incorrectly manufactured in the wrong place. Long story short, he called a Nissan dealership in Austin who sold the kit to fix the problem and saved me a ton of money. I seriously doubt most mechanics would have ever taken the time to investigate or been honest enough to let the customer know what the real problem was if it meant less money for them. I highly recommend both D&K Auto and Snyders Salvage for anyone who needs a top-notch, reasonable and honest company for their auto mechanic needs. more

Dan and his crew run a business like businesses used to be run - when a handshake and a promise meant something and customer service was the backbone of the business. My fiance had a lot of trouble with his S10. We found Dan (don't remember how, but all that matters is we found him!). He towed the truck for us, gave me an estimate, and completed the work in a timely manner. He was easy to get a hold of and answered all questions asked of him. He's a very friendly, straightforward, hardworking, honest man. Oh, and he was at least 40% below any other estimate we received. I tell everyone I know about Dan. My kids have heard me praise him so much that they refer to him as ""Dan the Man."" =D He is my mechanic. Period. more

My car was having engine problems for the second time after having the dealership fix it the first time. When I took it back to the dealership to see what the problem was, I was told it was going to cost about $2,000 to fix just one problem. Not having the money for this kind of repair and needing my car, I called around and found D & K. When I spoke to Dan he sounded very trustworthy and helpful. He not only offered to fix all of the problems with my car for half of what the dealership was going to charge for one problem, but also had my car towed to his shop. I am very thankful I found D & K and am glad he offers such fast, reliable and friendly service. more

I was so lucky to find D & K Automotive on Craigslist about 9 month ago. We have 3 cars in our household, the newest being 5 years old. I needed to have the air conditioning repaired in my 11 year old minivan, and estimates from other repair shops were around $1500. After diagnosing the problem, Dan gave me an estimate that was half price of the other shops. He and his staff completed the repair for $800 and it works perfectly. They had to remove my entire dash and assembly to make the repairs. Due to the age of my minivan, a plastic part in the dash broke while repairs were being performed. When I told Dan what had happened, he had to search nationwide to find a replacement part, since the factory no longer carried the part. He found the part , had it shipped here, and installed it at no charge. Since then, D & K has performed maintenance and repairs on all 3 of our vehicles at unbelievably reasonable prices. Their work is always expertly done using high quality parts. Dan always lets me know what my options are and lets me know when I do not need to have work done that has been recommended by a car dealership's repair shop. I still have a manufacturer's extended warranty on one vehicle, but D & K does a better, cheaper job than the dealer warranty provides. I trust Dan and his staff so much now, that I don't even ask them to diagnose and give me an estimate or ask for my prior approval before they perform the maintenance needed. Being a single woman, it is awesome to have found such an honest, trustworthy, and affordable auto repair shop. I recommend them to everyone I know. more

I happened upon D & K Automotive on craigslist as I was calculating how to possibly come up with $4500 for a new transmission for my old Mercedes. I'd spent the previous 3 weeks bumming rides from friends to work (bless each and every single one of you) while scraping the $470 for the repair shop that (finally) diagnosed the transmission dead. I seriously did not know what I was going to do. I called Dan and trotted out my pathetic story...Dan gave me hope, a ""new to me"" transmission for my car at a price I could actually wrap my mind around.....AND the opportunity to drive my car while paying the bill off. I can not possibly express my gratitude to Dan and D & K Automotive. Although its probably a 60+ mile roundtrip for me, I won't be taking my car anywhere else. Pros: My sisters, do not fear. My dodge grand caravan has been diagnosized as that the failure of the AC compressor leads to the failure of the AC last year by some shop, then I called D & K to have my compressor installed. Instead just install the compressor for me, D & K rechecked the AC and found out that the compressor is fine while the evaporator failed and need to be replaced.That's great, because they got the AC fixed and saved me a lot as well! otherwise, I will have to replace the non-failed compressor and the actually failed evaporator, the money and timing wise are both saved for me! THESE GUYS AT THIS REPAIR SHOP WHERE SO HELPFUL TO ME AND I HAD JUST MOVED HERE FROM AZ. 2 WEEKS AFTER I MOVED HERE MY CARE HAD BROKE DOWN IN CEDAR PARK AND I LIVE IN LAGO VISTA. I PARKED MY CAR GOT A CAB HOME AND THE NEXT DAY I LOOKED ON CRAIG'S LIST FOR A REPAIR SHOP AND FOUND THESE GUYS. THEY WERE SO SO POLITE AND TOWED MY CAR TO THERE SHOP. I HAD BLOWN A HEAD GASKET THERE ESTIMATE WAS WAY OUT OF MY RANGE BECAUSE ON DISABILITY. AND IT TOOK ME THREE MONTHS TO SAVE THE MONEY TO EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE BILL. THEY GAVE ME ALL MOST A $400.00 DOLLAR BELOW THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. MY CAR IS RUNNING GREAT AND I AM SO GLAD THERE ARE ANGLES IN THE WORLD LIKE THE TWO GUY AT D & K AUTOMOTIVE SHOP.......THANKS GUYS......... Pros: THEY SAVED AND HELPED ME VERY MUCH more

I took my truck there to have suspension work done and they did an excellent job!! I shopped around and they were the best price in the Austin area.....I highly recommend going to this shop. I plan on continuing to use them. Pros: Excellent service and great prices more
