Creek County Jail

The justice center is horrible horrible horrible!! I went there yesterday for visitation and they took my information and told me to have a seat and that it would be a little bit of a wait and then I would be able to see my friend. There was no place to sit! People were sitting on coffee tables and I saw multiple elderly people sitting on the tile floors. So I stood against a wall and waited for my turn. Nearly 2 HOURS later!!! They finally called the last group to go back. The officer that called the names was very quiet and said the names really quick to where you could barely understand what she was even saying. She rolled her eyes at multiple people as if we were wasting her time. When she was leaving I asked if I had misheard one of the names she had said and if it was my friends name. She proceeded to scream at me in the waiting area and tell me that my friend was in restriction. The woman waiting on the other side of the room was even in shock. Very very rude and unprofessional!! They should have told me from the beginning because not only did I waste gas driving up there but I wasted 2 hours by standing against a wall and being belittled in front of everyone. \r And there was even a mother of an inmate that complained after her visitation with her son that he had not received his glasses, prescription medication (that he has to have), or his money for his phone calls. And they told her that the reason he hadnt received anything was because he never asked for them. But at first they tried to tell her that the jail never received any of the items. But their story magically changed once she told them that they could go back on their security tapes and double check. What total bull crap!! This place is ridiculous!! more

Liars. You call and ask if an inmate is still at the facility and they lie and tell you no, when the inmate is still there. They have not turned the heat on for inmates in 20 degree weather. Sick inmates are refused medical attention. No clean blankets for 4 months. Once bailed out you can count on at least 24 hours before you get released. Okay for starters the people up front are not part of the jail. They are dispatch and are part of the sheriffs office. Another thing is the Creek County bondsman never come into the jail unless the are bringing in a surrender. They only go to the jail when somebody calls them first to bond them out. Then when they get to the jail they are always behind glass away from everyone but the people they are bonding out. I think it is kinda funny how AMYS can tell you that it is one of the worst run jails. She must have a lot of experience with jails..... It would be nice to hear a review from a victim of a crime and victims family rather than the criminal and their family because I can bet you they would appreciate the officers that work hard everyday in that and every other jail! And by the way, don't officers have to pay taxes too? more

To the last comment by Creek County Jail. I have not broken the law and I understand that jail is not a hotel but people still have a right to be treated humanely and the familys of the inmates whos tax money pays your salary has the right not to be treated rudely. Creek county is one of the most poorly run jail that I have ever seen. Very ineffecient. Just because you work at a jail and you think you are better than the inmates doesn't mean that you don't have to perform your job! I have seen older people being treated poorly there just because that can't hear and everyone seems to look down on us people trying to visit our family and friends. You people that work in the front make me sick. I mean do you even know how to smile? You are by far no better than me so get off your high-horse more

I have also heard bad things about Creek County Jail (and the Judges). Anyone that has first hand knowledge, or has someone in the jail that does, should contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation's Investigative Division. Section 1310 [A] & [14]: reads [ A.] ""The Insurance Commissioner may deny, censure, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew any license issued under Sections 1301 through 1340 of this title for any of the following causes"" [14] ""Soliciting business in or about any place where prisoners are confined, arraigned, or in custody"") I have a friend that just went there and I will be asking him about this situation. more

The inmates should not have to pay the bondsman who do this illegal practice and they have a solid defense to any lawsuit by that bondsman. CITIZENS SHOULD DEMAND GRAND JURY INVESTIGATION OF 'BOSS HOG' CREEK COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND THE CREEK COUNTY JAIL. The Sapulpa Creek County Jail is currently allowing two bondsman to solicit business in the jail in violation of title 59 O.S. Section 1310 (14) which prohibits ""soliciting business in or about any place where prisoners are confined, arraigned, or in custody."" To the extent that the officials willfully fail to enforce the law and willfully ignore this illegal practice, they are failing to do their duty. Two bondsman in Sapulpa write 90 per cent of all bonds. They are allowed to enter the jail and talk to all of the new arrests and to have the inmates sign the bondsman contracts and then the bondsman calls the parents and relatives to pay them the money after they have illegally solicited the business. Other states such as San Bernandino California have prosecuted the bondsman and county Sheriff for this illegal practice. Boss Hog should not be in charge of the jail in Creek County. In 2008, a 2.7 million dollar judgement was awarded against Creek County which had tied up and abused an inmate in the jail causing him to become a double amputee. Creek County is one of the worst counties in Oklahoma with a Crooked County Jail They need an investigation of this Crooked jail. if you get incarcerated there you are up shit creek without a paddle. the only thing you can give an immate is a money order made out to the offenders account. they do not get the money for days and then can buy cigertttes and phone cards at their INFLATED PRICES. Cons: what a racket more
