Best

I love the Peking Duck! It's in endless supply!! If you like Sushi you will be in your GLORY!! I don't care for it, but love walking by to see the creations! They make them right ...

Worst

Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with the unpleasant odor of backed up toilets (I actually visited the restroom and it smelled a whole lot better than the dining room)...

DON'T GO! 7/3/2009

I went to Crazy Buffet in Altamonte Springs with my boyfriend and we paid $ 40 for 2 old and horrible dinners, we left hungry. The service was bad and the food very poor quality, i would not return! I don't want to get sick, eating to Crazy Buffet!\r Don't go! Pros: SO BAD more

Dine at your own risk- Health Warning 5/4/2009

I have always loved this place and I was surprised that in April it was listed on Channel 6 as the worst violator of health regulations of all the restaurants in Central Florida. It is expensive unless you have a birthday in which case, dinner is free, but only dinner not lunch. I found that out the hard way. I was last here two years ago, and iaccording to other reviewers, it may have gone down hill since. My Red Hat group has done lunch here in a nice private dining room and the food was great. I have never experienced them being out of an item and not having it replaced. I wish the owners would ""clean up"" their act and pass health inspections. Pros: Huge variety of food Cons: Most cited restaurant for health violations more

Better than any other in Orlando more

horrible. 3/2/2009

the service sucked, the price was too high, and the food was awful. i tried everything that looked edible on the buffet and found nothing to please.very poor quality. it was disgusting. unclean. the sushi was horrible. i practically live off sushi and this is my first worst experience in a very long sushi eating life. don't bother going there, you will be very disappointed and walk away with a loss of appetite. definitely not worth it. more

The absolute worst dining experience I've had...don't believe the hype...save your money!!! 2/20/2009

Well, tonight I convinced my girlfriend Amanda that we should go to Crazy Buffet in Altamonte Springs(on 434 and 436). The moment we entered the establishment it appeared clean enough and the buffet filled with assorted sushi also appeared appetizing as well. I have to admit I felt quite proud of myself for deciding to finally check this place out. \r Upon closer inspection we found a large assortment of sub-par sushi and the sushimi...I won't even go there(looked and felt at least 3-4 hours old if not more). Feeling barely half satified, we decided to try the rest of the buffet(especially the snow crab legs which are served cold). The crab legs were overcooked and obviously were not fresh either. The Peking Duck was never presented to us(the space on the buffet remained empty for the duration of dinner) or the Filet Mignon(non-existent) for that matter, but after sampling all the bland, dried up room temperature items on the hot side of the buffet we knew our investment of $52.00(2 buffets and 2 flat sodas) was a complete waste(not counting a tip). Finally we tried the ""hibachi grill"" as a last ditch effort to salvage our dining experience. There we found vegetables with dry shriveled edges next to slightly discolored raw chicken and beef in pans next to the slimey raw shrimp. You pick what you want and your sauce(garlic, terryaki or spicy) and a ""cook"" prepares it for you. With the cook having no culinary skills whatsoever, we were not surprised when both of our plates left us feeling disgusted, cheated and slightly sick. We felt as if we had just been mugged.\r Luckily we were able to stop a couple in the parking lot(on their way in) as we were escaping our nightmare and turn them away. We only wish someone had been there to do the same for us as we arrived with such high expectations. \r *On the bright side*\r Theres always China Jade Mongolian BBQ behind Fashion Square Mall. Way better quality and selection for half the price!! Pros: Some of the sushi was okay(very little). Cons: Way overpriced!! Tastes like yesterdays food with ambience of a morgue. People seem distraught. more

Food okay, service is horrible ! 1/28/2009

There is a large selection of items here, especially salad type items, however the service is horrible.\r I would not return simply because the service was rude. I don't expect world class service at the chinese buffet, but the waiter could not bring checks or water or do much of anything in a timely fashion and without actng like we were annoying him while he was at work. I did not realize it was so difficult to ring up a buffet that is one price on separate checks?!?!!?!?!? Let's see 9.99 four times. That's hard huh? Pros: Lots of parking, quick seating, lots of options Cons: Bad Bad Bad service. more

Waste of money 11/15/2008

I was looking for a good chinese and I saw an ad about this place. So I went over and I wish I never did. It is overpriced bad food. Food had no taste. The only thing they have is sushi and crab legs but everything else is trash. I wasted $103.00 for 4 people with soda for each. Do not waste your money, you'll get better food at your local chinese place. I know i'm never going again! Pros: Sushi and crab legs Cons: Everything else more

Far better than average chinese buffet 4/5/2008

First of all....one cannot expect a chinese buffet to be gourmet. However Crazy Buffet is one large step up from most of them. Both the quantity AND the quality are better than any chinese buffet around. Also the sushi is in plentiful supply and being constantly fresly mad so that is a plus also The price is higher than other buffets however the big eater who loves his chinese food will enjoy this place very much. You will not be able to try everything that you wish to try and most items are very tasty. They do have a break between lunch and dinner so the get the dinner at the lunch price will not work here..lol Pros: variety and better quality than most chinese buffets Cons: higher price than others more

The review is skewed 2/23/2008

well, i was looking at the stars given at the top of the page, and noticed that the math was done wrong. 10 reviews- two at 5 stars, three at 4 stars, two at 3 stars, two at 2 stars, and one at 1 star. if you figure this correctly, the average rating would be at 66.7%, or 3 stars. they have it at 4 1/2 stars, indicating a 90% satisfaction. i don't know if i can trust this site! Pros: checking the information Cons: citysearch more

*SO* Disappointed! 4/8/2007

I have been going to Crazy Buffet for my birthday since it opened. It was something I anticipated happily every year. I only went on my birthday because $20 per person for a Chinese buffet is a bit pricey for me. \r This year, when I called for information (my birthday is on Easter and I wanted to be sure they were open) I was told that I could only have a free birthday meal if I brought a party of EIGHT or more with me! WHAT?!? I am disgusted with this cheap ploy to swindle people out of a birthday dinner. I mean COME ON...they charge so much anyway...8 x $20 = $160!!! Give me a freakin break!\r Sure, I can rustle up eight friends who would like to go there with me today, but I am totally NOT going there ever again on principle alone. I'll miss the sushi. And to top it all off, the woman who gave me this little nugget of news over the phone was RUDE! Just rub some salt in that wound, sweetie!\r To add to what another reviewer pointed out...the last time I was there, the toilets were backed up and one was doing the ""running constantly"" thing. It was pretty stinky. I guess it's an ongoing theme there. Too bad. \r I'm going to go cry in my birthday cake now. Pros: Delicious sushi, great decor. Cons: Stole my birthday dinner right out from under me! more

Unsanitary restaurant, rude hostess, stay away! 9/12/2006

Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with the unpleasant odor of backed up toilets (I actually visited the restroom and it smelled a whole lot better than the dining room). The hostess has always been very rude each time I have gone, but I still went back for the food. After this last time though the smell was unbearable. One of the main signs of a bad sushi restaurant is an unpleasant odor. I will not return and have advised my friends to do the same. Pros: All you can eat sushi, waiter was very attentive at filling our water glasses. Cons: The horendous stench, sushi that fell apart. more

Great Variety but Overpriced 1/10/2006

I don't think $20 plus or minus a little is cheap. True, they have a great variety and, if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, that may be fine but definately not cheap. I can find a number of decent Chinese buffets under $10 so, unless it's your birthday or you are looking for something unusual, go someplace else. Pros: Variety Cons: Expensive more

Decline is Sad 10/28/2005

Great would have been my initial review when CB first opened and up until about 8 months ago this would have the standard. The last 4 visits, the last one tonight, were progressively without merit. Having spent time in the business I knew that there were times even the best are just mediocre, so I gave it multiple chances. The sushi and sashimi has been of decreasing quality culminating in inedible tonight....Warm and of poor quality...............Raw oysters sitting under warming lights with no bed of ice...........The hot foods which used to be HOT are insipid and pedestrian at best..........If all you are looking for is quantity then OK...........Quality is not in this place! Pros: Good service, Seated quickly, Clean bathrooms Cons: No more a good value, Seafood not chilled, Sushi selections ltd. more

Fancy Buffet!! 6/6/2005

I love the Peking Duck! It's in endless supply!! If you like Sushi you will be in your GLORY!! I don't care for it, but love walking by to see the creations! They make them right there in front of you. They offer a ""bacon wrapped filet mignon"" I think they are stretching the truth on the cut of meat, but edible non the less and you just walk up and select the degree you want it cooked from a shelving system in front of the grill. Try the tempura veggies! YUM! Excellent desserts! Pricey at $20 a head, but if it's your birthday you eat for FREE! It's definately a place to see at least once!! :) Pros: Buffet, Fresh Food, Excellent Selection Cons: Pricey, Crowded Sometimes more

Great start, gone downhill 10/22/2004

When this place first opened it was my choice for birthday dinner (on your birthday you ate free). I'm not usually a buffet eater, but this one claimed to be upscale...and it was. Sadly, the last couple times we went the food selections were below average and the sushi was horrible. The atmosphere and decor is terrific and there was a lot of potential, however my past few experiences were enough to make me choose another restaurant on my birthday. Pros: Beautiful decor, Large selection more

Great Food, Reasonably Priced 8/24/2004

Love the Crazy Buffet's variety. Although it boasts of its Chinese fare, there are many tasty American dishes also available. The atmosphere is cozy, and the live entertainment relaxing, (she is excellent, and did not mind playing my 13yr old sons classical and show tune request). I recommend Crazy Buffet highly. And even though we will be taking our son there for his free birthday dinner soon, it is more of a treat to us to go and again enjoy the wonderful food there. E. G. Stephens Pros: Variety, Good atmosphere, Flavorful food more

debbies 7/17/2004

excellent food atmosphere and the price fits the amount and quality of the food offered. its too far away as we travel from kissimmee but we will be there today for our birthday dinners Pros: atmosphere, quality of food, service more

Reasonably priced 6/17/2004

This is the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to so far. There is something for everyone there. From sushi, hibachi grill(cooked to your preference), chinese food, seafood to fillet mignon. My favorite is definetly the steak - it's cooked to order and it's so juicy. Prices during the weekday is about $18 and i got a $3 off coupon from there website which is updateed each month for new promotions. If you love sushi this is definetly the place to go - they have everything you can imagine. The seating area is broken down to a couple of rooms. Some are for large parties and then the main dining areas. Which is good because you don't have to see the buffet tables. Too bad it's only up in Altamont, we travel from Kissimmee and have gone about 5 times since October - for a free birthday dinner. Pros: Seating arrangement, Lots of parking, Large Parties more
