Covington Theological Seminary

After much research, I decided that CTS was a quality school and would offer me the challenging education I desired. I have been a part of their DMin program for the past eight months and I am completely satisfied. I graduated from Southern Seminary in 1978 where I received a first class education. I must say, after personal experience, that CTS rates right up there with Southern. If you are seeking a PhD in order to teach at a well known seminary, then CTS would not be for you. However, if you want a super education that would help you be more effective in the local church, then do not hesitate to consider Covington. I am a part of the distance learning program-which is very challenging. I do miss the lectures, class attendance, and relationship building, but since I am unable to leave my current church position and move to Georgia, it is certainly meeting my need. I was skeptical going into the classes. I had not heard much about the school, and was concerned about its size. The professors at the Western Carolina Extension are awesome! They have put together a faculty that I would put up against most schools. We had some drop out in the first few days, saying, ""This is too hard. It's like a real seminary."" Praise God, that's what I was hoping for. I feel that I am receiving a great education that will prepare me, and would not hesitate to recommend the school. Don't come in looking for an easy walk and a cheap degree. These guys are here to teach. Pros: Professors, Class size, Theological soundness Cons: No extracurriculars. more
