Never Again! 2/14/2011

This was hands down my worst experience at a restaurant. My wife and I went in for sandwiches on a sunday afternoon. After waiting for 40 minutes and no sign of our waitress Aimee, I went to the counter to see when the food might be coming. I was told in a very rude manner that ""It's a sunday and they are busy."" and since there was also an 11 top that mine and my wife's food had to wait. She then told me (40min after we ordered) that they may or may not have one of the ingredients for my sandwich. ""Does that make a difference?"" Yes! It does! You also could have brought that to my attention after i ordered! The thing that got me aggravated the most was that this woman never once used the word SORRY. That is all that it would have taken to make the situation better. She then proceeded to talk about us to the owner. The conversation took place almost right next to us. She did mention to him that ""he would have trouble with table one"" (us). After we got of food I did tell her that it was very good. Her reply was just ""Worth the wait."" After we were finished she tells us that ""it's ok, we can pay. Don't worry its ok"" Whatever that means. The problem was that she never brought us a check. I go to the counter and I did not get a word from the owner. Not how was everything, or a sorry about the wait. It just shows that it is more than just Aimee with the bad attitude. It runs through the whole place. I worked in restaurants for 10 years and I never have acted the way she did or even met anyone who acted the way she did. From me and my wife a 20% tip means that you were an ok waitress. We normally tip 20-30%. This is the first time I have ever not tipped. Yes the food was good, but I will never go there again. I will also make sure no one else has this miserable experience. more

Great food, horrible service 11/26/2010

This restaurant is terrific in terms of the food: incredible variety, everything is very, very good. However, the service is attrocious. The wait staff is very rude. Once we arrived just as they were closing and the kid pretty much slammed the door in our faces. I called to complain and the owner or manager DEFENDED him!!! Appalling. Another time I was there and the owner came to talk to someone at their table, which was practically right on top of ours, as you're kind of squeezed in there. He proceeded to describe, in detail, some violent reaction when he'd stopped being a vegetarian. Disgusting. Another time, I was with friends and we hadn't ever gotten something we'd ordered for brunch, and they basically said it was our fault. And that's the last time I went there. They need to do something about this chronic problem, or they're going to lose a lot of business. Shame, because the meals are delicious. more

Price the same, quanity shrinking 7/29/2010

We meet once a month. Once you find something you really like, you keep ordering it.\r We always get the ""country side"" .\r It is a HUGMONGUS sandwich. Has an olive sread & italian meats.\r \r Today, we noticed that the meat was a little ""lite"".\r Usually you can barley get it in your mouth.\r \r When the waitress asked how everything was, we told her there wasn't as much meat, as usual.\r \r She reported back to the owner. \r He made it a point to come over & explain that the meat is weighed (ha) and that it is cut thiner.\r \r Who is he kidding. If he was putting 4 -6 ounces of meat before, they are definitely using less !!\r If you order the samething, everytime you go to a deli, then when something is different, you notice !! more

Terrible Service, expensive food 4/6/2009

When i was there last, there was 10 people working but only 3 tables. Our app. took over 20 minutes to get out and our food took over an hour, WE DID NOT EVEN GET TO EAT because we had to leave after waiting over 1 hour for 2 sandwiches. The owner/ cashier was not sincere and kept sayings ""its ready now"" and the food never came out. Never appologized and Her excuse was ""we are changing from breakfast to lunch"". THere menu was extensive but not cheap. I would NOT reccomend going back. Pros: worst service Cons: never got to eat more

TERRIBLE service, food is not worth it. 3/21/2009

The food here is very good, with a big selection, but someone really needs to teach the owner that the customer is always right. The service is often atrocious -- it seems like they hire family friends or something and then don't fire them for being terrible waitstaff. I've had orders not put in for half an hour, or no refill of water for 20 minutes. What really got me is that I asked them to warm up a sandwich for me and they refused because it was ""bending the rules"". I told them they could just stick it in the microwave -- no, that would ""ruin the sandwich"", they said, without asking my opinion. And then the owner told me that he had taken the order off, that if I wasn't going to eat the sandwich in the way they wanted me to eat it, they did not care for my money. Now, this place is good but they make sandwiches -- not the caliber of chef that I'm going to let dictate my food. Absolutely terrible customer service, they were very rude, and in my opinion there are enough other places to get great food that it's not worth it. Try the 320 Market, which is very close, in the area, has great food, and everyone is really nice. Pros: Good variety of quality sandwiches. Cons: Rude owner, terrible service - the customer is always wrong. more
