What a miserable experiance 8/7/2008

After waiting 3 hours to get out of the parking lot I really wished I had paid the $40 to park or parked 8 miles away.. I would have been happier... Pros: Jack Johnson Cons: Parking.... bathrooms are GROSS more

Dear LiveNationNewEngland 8/6/2008

We don?t care if you are the owner or just the ?name-in-title? sponsor. You both have influence and you are responsible. Comcast wanted their name associated to this place for the marketing and they are getting it. If they don?t want negative marketing then they can pull their name OR they can use their influence and help FIX THE PROBLEM. more

""Great"" Woods no more... 8/3/2008

I've always had an opinion that the venue didn't suit all bands well... but now with their change of ownership and new policies, the Comcast ""Formerly Tweeter"" Center has gone straight down the toilet. $8 for a beer. And you can't even buy one if you're from out of state, legal, and under 25. The security presence at the arena makes it feel less like an event for your favorite band and more like a prom at a catholic school. Skip attending this venue at any cost. Pros: Lots of good acts play Cons: Parking, Access, Security, Prices, Overall Experience more

Comcast Cable is NOT Responsible for Venue Policies or Procedures at the Comcast Center 7/29/2008

?The Comcast Center is owned and operated exclusively by Live Nation. The Comcast Cable Company functions solely as the name-in-title sponsor of the Center and has no involvement or control over policies or procedures in place at the facility. The tailgating policy at the Center has not changed. It is against the bylaws of the town of Mansfield to drink in public and the recent enforcement of this law is an attempt by the Mansfield Police Department to curb underage drinking and prevent unruly, disruptive behavior. We ask that our guests not hold Comcast Cable responsible for any issues regarding the operation of the facility.? more

On edge 7/22/2008

Never in my entire life have I been so on edge at a concert venue than I was on the weekend of 06/28. I went to see Pearl Jam both nights, and aside from the show, I was to the point of being petrified the entire two nights due to the overwhelming police presence there both nights. Pros: The show itself. Cons: Everything else. more

Boycott !! 7/19/2008

You have got to be kidding me!! Notorious for the worst exit traffic scene and now this? I've gone there for years, and for the last few have paid for ""premier parking"" which is now $40, to sit an hour less in the parking lot trying to get out of there. To switch mid season sux since I have two more shows, and one is Buffett. What will Jimmy show on the big screen....the spandex bike team ? Next year, under the new ""no fun"" rules, I believe there will be a noticeable drop in ticket sales....I bought 16 tickets to 4 shows this year, next year will be ZERO. more

BUZZKILLINGTON Buys out Tweeter 7/18/2008

This has to be one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of. No tailgating in the com cast are you kidding me? This is why i don't even have them as a cable provider, they are terrible, they are run by a bunch of right-wing businessman that don't have any concept of having fun. I am surprised to see they are not hosting a John McCain fund raiser for '08 hah. They plan on FORCING the average Joe to buy $6 beers inside to buy the owner a new house. I am joining the boycott and not buying anymore tickets from them until it is under new management, please do the same, f**k you com cast! Pros: They have music Cons: Terrible venue more

Tweeter Was fun.... comcast not! 7/14/2008

I used to love tweeter center... for the past couple summers i would go to just about every show there, if i didnt have tickets, i would chill in the super lawn (parking lot) and listen. I would relax in the parking lot, make some food, enjoy some drinks, and enjoy the festivities with thousands of others... Pros: great shows Cons: not the fun loving concert invironment i loved more

Cancel your cabel, phone, internet, and dont go to the shows 7/11/2008

I have tickets remaining to one more show and then I'm done. I'd rather go to Worcester, Providence, or Manchester then back to what comcast has ruined. As soon as Verizon Fios comes in I will no longer have any need for comcast. Pros: the memory of what it once was Cons: comcast more

livenation 7/9/2008

If this and has been a live nation venue what has caused such a drastic change? signs in the lots read tailgating is allowable. Since when has mansfield decided to enforce the bs bylaws? under age is one thing but attacking 30-40 y/os about having some beers and cooking is ridiculous. I guess they are trying to get the venue to go under. Live nation better say something or the venue is going to suffer. Noone will be going there and the big draw entertainers are going elsewhere if the fans aren't going to pay big prices for tix, beer, food and least we forget the teenagers trying to direct traffic causing a 2-3 hr delay getting out. I miss the fun days when Tweeter center or great woods was the primary on it. We used to look forward for summer nights there but why go there for harassment from spandexed bike riding golf carting nazis? If i could sell my tix for the rest of the season i would but I can't even give them away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: OVERBEARING POLICE more

Comcast Center 7/8/2008

I have tickets for the Buffett show in September. I've been going for the past 6 years and without a doubt the best tailgate party ever. It will be very interesting to see what happens this year. I would start by canceling Comcast. There's nothing wrong with Verizon. I wonder if the Mansfield Police station can hold 20,000 thousand people? I wish Buffet went back to Gillette this year. more

Proud member of the Bring Back Tweeter/ Great Woods Facebook group 7/7/2008

I went to the Dave Mattews show on 06/28 at the Comcast Center and I will never go to a show at the Comcast Center again! I have been to the Tweeter Center for numerous shows over the years and I have never expereinced the brutallity and humiliation that I had seen at the Comcast Center. I saw a number of full grown adults be embarassed and yelled at by men in spandex and biker helmets because they were grilling and drinking peacefully on a sunny summer afternoon in the parking lot. But it didn't stop there. If you are under 25 and have an out of state license, good luck buying any alcohol inside the venue. Even if you have 2 proofs of ID. Pros: The artists that probably won't be going back after these reviews Cons: No tailgating, overpriced food and bev, bike patrollers on a power trip more

I hope someone from the Comcast Center is taking this all in 7/3/2008

I really do not have to say anything as I think if you interviewed everyone that went to the 6/30 Pearl Jam show 99% of them would say, it took a great performance to erase such a terrible experience in the parking lot. I believe that Comcast Center is losing fans that support it's existence. more

Comcast Center: The worst experience you can have while trying to enjoy yourself. 7/2/2008

Great Woods! What a great place to see a show. Pros: Good acts perform here Cons: Everythign else about the place more

This place has gone down hill 7/1/2008

I am 33 years old and have been to Great Woods/ Tweeter Center/ Comcast Center 12-15 times for concerts. I just went to the June 28th Pearl Jam concert and was treated like a teenager in the parking lot. Pros: The show Cons: Everything else more

NO Tailgating, NO Alcohol, Police Harrassment, Waste of Tax Dollars, Poor Venue Experience,BIG FAT JOKE!!! 7/1/2008

As a concert goer in The U.S. since the late 80's I have been to many venues in numerous states and I cannot remember any of them being so poorly run as The Comcast Center in Mansfield Massachusetts. I bought tickets to see Pearljam perform, June 28, 2008, at The Tweeter Center, which I had heard from many was a super place to see a show. Things sure must have changed when Comcast bought the place because the experience was far from super. It was downright dissapointing and pathetic. Pros: small venue Cons: no tailgating, no alcohol, long lines of traffic, constant police surveillance, steep lawn seating. more

Bring Back Tweeter/Great Woods 7/1/2008

Where to begin...hmm...okay, well I'll start off by saying that I've been to this venue over 30 times, and have LOVED 28 of the shows...i guess I could say that I loved all 30, but we didn't have the same experience for the last two. I STUPIDLY bought tickets to most of the shows here this summer, as I always do, at once before the summer starts. I say stupidly, because if I had known that COMCAST was going to ruin the experience for everyone by instantiating new rules I would have saved my money and gone elsewhere, but its too late for this summer. This place has been awesome for years and years and years, they let you get in at noon to setup shop (grills, games, beverages) and enjoy the beautiful summer days till the show beings, then try to push everyone in, which is 100% understandable. NOW HOWEVER, they have implemented a strict policy of no drinking before the show, and have pushed the times to open the gate. They have varying times, anywhere from 2 hours before the show opens to a few more hours of open time. I attended Tom Petty and Pearl Jam so far this summer and have issues with them both times. At Tom Petty they turned us away at the gate and said they would open at 4:30. We went to a hotel and tailgated with others in their parking lot until 4:30. At which time they opened and made us park in the back of the worst parking lot, another new policy to screw over anyone getting there early. Then at Pearl Jam they had cops constantly patrolling looking for people drinking, not underage, ANYONE. I saw them arrest several people and make the other people they were with dump everything in their coolers into garbages. I don't mind the 25 yr old rule inside, tailgating was the way around it for out of staters. They've taken our dignity away from us, we are just dollar signs to them now, no longer are ""guests"". I'm praying they go bankrupt, look elsewhere for a show. If you have facebook, theres a group: Bring Back Tweeter/Greatwoods. Spread the word. Pros: Used to be the greatest place on earth Cons: New owners took the life and love outta the place more

The WORST Venue I've Ever Experienced 7/1/2008

I bought tickets to see Pearl Jam at this venue back in April when it was still called the ""Tweeter Center"". I read the reviews then and everybody seemed to love this place. And then comes yesterday. The name of the venue has changed to the ""Comcast Center"" and everybody seems to hate it. My first peeve with this place is the parking situation. Granted it's free but after the show let out, it took me over 2 hours to get out of the lot (plus I had another 4 hours to travel ahead of me). Secondly, they are very strict with the curfew for the bands. Pearl Jam was off at 11:03. I saw them at the Garden this past week and they didn't get off the stage until almost midnight. That was a huge disappointment. Last, but certainly not least, is their absurd alcohol policy in the place. I was turned away because I'm from New York and not 25 years old. However, if I were to be from Mass or RI, there wouldn't have been any problems. My friend, however, was old enough to buy the beer (after presenting TWO forms of ID and being interrogated about the information). Then, on the way back to our seats, I offered to hold one of the beers my friend bought so they could get out their ticket. As soon as that beer was put into my hands, I was hounded by an alcohol supervisor who threatened to eject me if I didn't give the beer back. So, in short, if you're from out-of-state, want a beer or two and are under 25, don't waste your time going. Pros: None to speak of Cons: The staff; the alcohol policy; 65 seat rows (you are constantly being bothered) more

bring back the tweeter center 6/29/2008

I have been a loyal concert goer to the tweeter center for 5+ years. I just went since it became the comcast center and it was the worst concert experience i have ever had. I watched a teenager get maced because he was drinking a beer. MACED! in the first ten minutes of being there! i understand being reprimanded for underage drinking but that was harsh. When his friend got upset about what happened he was tackled to the ground and then thrown AT a golf cart. by the way this was all done by a police officer wearing spandex shorts and a bycicle helmet. even 30+ year olds were getting their coolers dumped b/c they were not from MA. it was awful. At least the concert (DMB) was great but the security was a joke and rude. i came to tailgate and have a good time but the whole time i was worried about getting pysically harassed by cops driving golf carts. I doubt I'll go back there and the bands would be smart to find a new venue. at this rate the comcast center can kiss the fans goodbye b/c everyone i heard was miserable. i would reccomend buying tickets for your favorite band at some other venue on the tour, this one is a waste of your money. Pros: free parking Cons: security is abusive. more

It's A Big Scam 6/26/2008

This place suhhcks. There's absolutely no crowd control. ""Staff"" members walk around and never interfere when they see a-holes starting trouble with people who are actually trying to enjoy the show. And evidently you only need to have an IQ of a sponge to work there. It is the worst place I've ever been to for a live show. The ""lawn"" is a joke. They just put as many people as they can up there. It's obvious the money hounds that run that place are only concerned about one thing. Ripping people off!!! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Go to this place if: 1. You don't care about seeing the band, 2. You think really drunk and stupid teenage girls are fun, 3. You like being ripped off for horrible food and watered down beer, 3. You have 3 hours after the concert to sit in your car without moving because the morons who run the place have no f***king clue what-so-ever, and 4. You like CRAPHOLES!! Cons: Waiting 2 and 1/2 hours to get out of there more
