Colvin-Brighton Child Care Center

I was at a stand still when it came to choosing child care for my three year old. She was not happy with the home daycare that I was using and although I didn't want to ignore her complaints...I couldn't find anything better. She was not suited for a large ""daycare"". After stopping in Colvin-brighton child care ctr, the director told me about the new preschool building they had opened off of Eggert Rd. We took a look at the small preschool and fell in love. It had everything I was looking for, small group, attentive teachers, nutritious lunches, flexible scheduling and affordable! The owners are totally down to earth and I always feel welcome there. Most importantly..my daughter has never been happier! She loves her class and her teachers and our morning fights are OVER! I can't tell you enough how this was an answer to prayer for us! As a hard working single mom, child care is very important to me! I would (and DO) recommend this center to anyone who has had enough with low-standard care for your children. I now go to work with a smile, knowing my daughter is having fun and learning. She is now writing her name and learning her shapes and colors. She comes home with a daily report and crafts everyday! I looked at this center and found it to be not up to my standers it is very messy and all open so all the children even infants are in one big area with nothing but tables blocking off alot of the teachers did not seem to involved with the children , and I was told they do no provide a healthy lunch but that all meals are prepared in a microwave. Pros: it may be cheaper then other centers but you get what you pay for Cons: messy to many kids not enough room or staff more

This center provides children with a loving and VERY educational program!! Children are given individualized attention and are taught something new everyday. Unlike most centers the teachers are involved with the childrens activities and play with the children. They have Circle time for all age groups and do lots of arts and crafts. Great all around program!! Pros: Friendly staff more

I looked at this day care center for my son nate for the preschool and have to say it was dirty the staff was messy looking the kids were all over the place not in groups learning anything running around while the one teacher sat at the table ignoring the behavior not the day care I would send my kid to Cons: cheaper then other day cares but once you go inside you see why more

I went to look at this center as many others when tring to find the right one for my daughter i have to say most of the staff seemed nice but I did nt like how open the center was you have babies sleeping when other children are singing and playing making it hard for them to nap and because it was open you can hear other lessons going on in the section next to yours might be hard for children to learn , I choose doodlebugs instead the rooms are closed off between children and teachers but you can watch online whats going on if you like . Pros: staff seemed nice Cons: open to much noise going on more

Despite negative reviews from two obvious disgruntled former employees, I have been a client of this day care on and off for the last 10 years. The staff is certified, compliant with all NYS regulations and caring towards all my children. My sons attended from the age of 2 until they were to attend kindgergarten. My daughter started as an infant and the staff was wonderful - they accomodated her schedule and she loved gooing to see her friends! The center focuses on learning and all my children benefitted from attending. I recommend this center to all who ask. It is a warm, loving and educational enviroment. The recently celebrated their 10th anniversary, which is a true testimony to their success. more

I have been to the Colvin-Brighton Child Care Center many times, and have enjoyed every second of my visits. They offer great meals for kids, have the nicest staff imaginable, and often take kids for an afternoon stroll in the parks. kids have fun when they are learning at Colvin-Brighton Child Care Center, and graduations are always the best part, walking down the isle in their little suits, WHAT A SITE!! And of course kids love it too, they sing songs, tell a little about themselves, and what job they would love to have as an adult. Over all this is an amazing daycare! more

my child attends Colvin- Brighton child care center. And we love it!! there is great parent to teacher communication. Whenever a well qualified teacher has a concern about my son I am informed immediatley!! I love that my son is recieving a well rounded education by a teacher that is direct, organized, involved, and very loving. They really encourage the children to eat their fruits and vegetables. My son loves the lunches there. especially the pasta and the peas. He also enjoys his outside time walking the neighborhood or going to the park ensuring that he gets plenty of daily exercise. I highly reccomend any parent looking for a well qaulified staff, reasonable prices and a very loving environment look to Colvin- Brighton for a worryfree experiance Thank-you Pros: family oriented, low staff turnover, enriched lunches Cons: absolutly none more

Directors and staff are very nice, down to earth and reasonable when it comes to logistics like accounting, sick times, etc; however overall, it's not a very organized. In the toddler room they've eliminated afternoon snacks which leaves the children hungry at pick up. Having a snack at 5 then leaves them little room for dinner. Schedules for sleep and meals seem disorganized. Children down to the infant room level receive no monthly developmental reports which seems strange. (Most centers seem to provide an update on progress toward developmental milestones on a monthly basis at the minimum). more
