Dr. Tom Dempsey is an exceptional Eye Doctor for both children and adults. I took my 2.5 year old daughter, to see him for a wandering eye problem. I was anxious about the appointment, because of her age...as it turns out this appointment was the most fun appoinment, I've ever had with a kid. Dr. Dempsey, was so great with her, and funny, and positive and understanding...my daughter was happy and responsive during the entire appointment (there was only one tiny complaint during the eye drops, as to be expected)... I am still amazed how well he did with her...although Dr. Dempsey does not have the word ""pediatric"" in front of his name, he is the best dr. I have ever seen with kids. So my highest recommendation for him.\r more

Colchester Eye Care has been one of the best Doctor experiences we have had. My whole family has been going to Dr. Dempsey for many years and not only has our eye care been great, and he is marvelous with children, but the whole experience is always pleasant. The office staff is very helpful and we have never had a problem. more

I have been going to Dr. Dempsey at Colchester Eye Care for about 14 years and my best friend, my husband and I now drive over 35 minutes to get there! I have never met a more genuine, caring person as Dr. Tom Dempsey. Most of his staff has been with him for as long as I have, which speaks volumes of his wonderful caring, professional nature.\r I have had some significant eye issues over the years and he always called to check on me after my visits. One time he had to refer me to a corneal specialist and HE called me to follow up. \r He and his wife have gone to great lengths to develop a clean, professional, user- friendly office. I brought my children there last summer and they were treated with such great care. \r I love Dr. Tom Dempsey and Colchester Eye Care and would HIGHLY recommend them to everyone I know. more

The real issue here is there are always TWO side.\r \r Anyone in any type of business that works for the public knows 1st hand there are some that no matter what you do will NEVER please them. \r \r Now let me say up front I DON’T work for the office or the Doctors but rather my entire family is patience’s. I challenge anyone that has any questions about the office/staff to make an appointment and make your own decision or better yet take a look at their huge list of returning (year over year) patience’s and ask why. \r \r I can assure you that I don’t stand alone when I say as a mother of two I would not trust my children’s eye care nor mine with anyone else. I as a consumer with many options for our eye care I have selected Doctor Dempsey and his Team of professionals for many different reasons. I would be more then happy to share with anyone that would like to talk further about my experiences and the reasons why. \r \r I can promise when you walk into his office you will feel welcome and will never be treated like a #. \r \r Stated within one of the comments is “it is rare to find a doctor these days…..” \r \r Yes it is rare to find doctor these days that care about the patience more then money. \r Yes it is rare to find doctor these days that take the extra steps going above and beyond each and every time to make sure their patience leave with the best eye sight/care possible.\r Yes it is rare to find a doctor these days that will stop and acknowledge you with more then a hello when you’re not in their office, but instead asks how you are doing and wants to hear your answer. \r Yes it is rare to find a doctor these days that will call you after seeing you to answer any questions you thought of after you left their office.\r Yes it is rare to find a doctor these days that are as honest and treats your hard earn money as their own, ensuring that any unnecessary tests, visits, etc are not done. \r Yes it is rare to find a doctor these days that have come in early, left late or worked through lunch to make sure your schedule availability was met.\r Yes it is rare to find a doctor these days that give back to their community by donating their time, expertise and skill because they care more about eye site and people then themselves. \r \r But let me assure you I found that doctor.... in Colchester Eye Care, Doctor Thomas Dempsey and his entire professional team of Doctors and office staff. \r Pros: Professional and Always goes above and beyond more

I have been seeing Dr. Dempsey for years now. He is professional, down-to-earth and truly enjoys taking care of his patients. It's rare to find a doctor these days who takes his time, answers your questions and demonstrates a caring attitude. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this practice to anyone!\r Can't understand any of the negative comments - I have had nothing but positive experiences. This is the worst experience I've ever had with an eye doctor. They have a superiority complex and the doctors and staff are nothing but rude. They bill incorrectly and lie about things. The author of the 5 star rating is Dempsey, the owner wrote his own review!!! Pretending to be a patient. This shows their low integrity. ""Nick"" is not a real doctor. I was billed for things that he gave me false information on. I reluctantly paid since these guys will immedietly send you to collections, one thing they are good at. I went to a real doctor and had my problems solved, but unfortunately it took longer than I would like for my eye health. Stay away. Cons: NOT REAL DOCTORS, OVERPRICED FOR POOR SERVICE more

Everyone was nice and the office clean and facilities up to date. I had some funkiness on my retina that the Dr. said I should have looked @ by a retinal specialist. He asked ..Would you like to see a picture of your retina? I said sure. When I got my invoice there was a $120 charge for that one computer snapshot. Ya see..it's not that I had to pay for it..insurance did but I wasn't informed. Maybe I am one of those folks who,just because it is free,might just pass. Maybe that is my own little shot at medical reform I ended up going to this great specialist Dr. Lim who ended up taking over the course of two visits way over 20 pictures.I haven't gotten any figures as yet but I'm willing to bet that he is not charging $120/ picture. He teaches @ Yale and one of the things he tells his students..if you find some funkiness don't get so excited ...keep looking...there may be more. ..which leads me to my other point and one expressed by Dr. Lim as well. The Dr. @ C.E.C. missed some more of that funkiness in the other eye...so you are not really getting a complete eye exam...you are getting a kinda complete exam. Dr. Lim is not implying that one should go to a retinal specialist on top of a reg. eye exam..what he is saying is ""complete eye exam"" is puffery. more
