Great Food, Dissapointing Experience 2/19/2011

We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for our 21st anniversary requesting a good seat by a window with a good view. We chose Clinkerdaggers as an excuse to have the Taylor's 40 year old Port--my favorite port. We were given the worst seat in the house. We only had a view of the Kitchen door and the staff pouring in and out while bumping into each other. The staff all looked very tense making the atmosphere tense. When my port arrived the color was way too light, there was too little body, no depth of flavor, and an alcohol burn instead of being buttery smooth. It did not give me goosebumps and tasted just like any 20 year old port that I had tried and not an $18 an ounce glass of 40 year old port. When I asked if I had gotten the correct port the waitress looked mortified and wanted to exchange it for another drink. I explained that it was the main reason that I had come there. There was no other option. I did not want another drink. There was no resolution possible if the claim persisted that what I had received was the 40 year old port. In the mean time another woman, a manager perhaps, offered us an additional free desert to our anniversary desert because they had given us such a poor table on our anniversary. We were too full to take advantage of it. We had one desert and split it. The waitress kept fretting over my port seeming very nervous verging on guilty. I do not think she was responsible but perhaps knew. She was very sweet otherwise and wanted to make sure I was satisfied, but never offered to remove it from the bill or charge me for a 20 year port instead. As an experiment I wanted to see what they would do on their own to see if we would come back. Plus, I really did not want to make a big fuss. So, I said perhaps it was the horseradish making it taste off. She said to my wife, he is lying isn't he. I just waited to see how it would resolve on our bill. We were charged full price for the port. We paid our bill, left the waitress a 25% tip and left a quickly as we could. We will not be back. I will have to find a source for my 40 year old port elsewhere. more

awful!! 10/20/2010

We took a party of 22 to this restaurant. We had a reservation, so you think they would have us seated together. We were at 3 different tables. We also asked the waiter for one bill for each family. No, he said they didn't do that(what resaurant doesn't do that). We each received a single bill(22 bills) with an 18% gratuity figured in. This explains the rudeness during visit because the tip was already figured in and didn't have to be earned. Food was way overpriced and not enough for a 2 year old to eat. 22 less customers coming back. Way to go Clinks. Restaurants remember, CUSTOMER SERVICE KEEPS YOUR CUSTOMER!!! more

Horrible!!!!! 3/8/2009

My parents and I went out to dinner at Clinkerdagger's tonight, I will be leaving town soon and Clink's has always been good in the past (but that was years ago). Tonight was, well we would have been better off going to a dive. My father's food was seved to him cold, my mother's dry as a bone mine was plain nothing special and the service.....oh my gosh the service. My family and I always tip about 20%, but tonight the tip was less than 5%. A much needed and hopefully received wake up call to our waitress. She was the apitamy of cold and rude and if you were to look up vapid in websters, you would see her face. Cons: food is not worth eating, service is horrible and ambience screams 1992 more

Probably the Best Restaurant in Town 3/14/2008

We absolutely love Clinkerdaggers! Such incredible ambiance, excellent service and food. And you can't best the view!! The falls are right outside the windows. The food...ahhh.....definitely one of the best--if not the very best, in all of the Spokane area. Pros: Best food, ambiance, service, and view more

Nice venue with decent food 8/28/2007

I've been once for dinner and once for lunch and both experiences were pretty good. Overall the food is probably above average for Spokane, however I think it lacked creativity and was a little oily. The menu is large with lots of the typical choices - steak, steak & lobster, shrimp louie salad, mashed potatoes etc.... Once really nice thing about Clinkerdagger's however is that the outdoor seating area has a really nice view of the river and downtown. more

FANTASTIC Cuisine and SERVICE 12/31/2004

I have dined at Clinkerdagger's several time and tell my friends about the wonderful times I've had there. The food is great, I love their Mahi Mahi!! The service is top of the line. I have gotten to know the night manager Debi through my visit she is exceptional! We recently had a birthday at Clinkerdagger's and Debi went out of her way for a few extra added touches for us, which she didn't have to do service seems to be everything to Debi. When people say it is expensive it is a little on the high side, but you really get what you pay forat Clinkerdagger's. They treat everyone like a VIP and we all need that sometimes! Treat yourself to a wonderful evening, an experience you will remember!! Pros: Beautiful restaurant, Exceptional service, Excellent Burnt Cream more

Clinkerdagger! 11/7/2004

I love Clinkerdagger! I am very familiar with Clinkerdagger and recommend it to everyone! There is nothing to dislike here-great atmosphere, great food, wonderful service! The menu items are never a let-down (although I admit that I am a sucker for Ahi), and the prices, while a bit eyecatching at around $20 per entree, are worth the views alone. They also have a nice house wine. If you have wanted to try Clinkerdagger but have procrastinated, make a reservation and treat yourself, particularly during the holiday season-the decorations are breathtaking. You won't be disappointed! Pros: menu, atmosphere, service more

Better than most 1/29/2003

We have eaten here many times and the food is always good. It is not the best in town in my opinion (and yes I to have had the prime rib), but the eat's and service is really good for Spokane. The prices are outlandish though and for less cash you can find better food, though a better combination of location, service and overall ambiance would be hard to match. Pros: Nice view of river, classy interior Cons: way to much money more
