My daughter has been irish dancing with the Clarkson School for 5 ? years and I continually realize that she is with simply the best Irish dance school in St. Louis and, frankly, one of the best in the country. We have been with Clarkson for just about 8 months but have been dancing for 3 years and have been made to feel very welcome by parents and teachers. Our girls love coming to class and their dancing has improved so much this last year. The school is very driven to teaching the children how to get the best from themselves and offering classes six days a week. All older dancers are wonderful role models for the young ones and are very supportive of them in class and at competitions. I would highly recommend this school if you are thinking about sending your child or children to learn irish dance, and have them learn from the best. more

We've been dancing with Clarkson for five years, and have learned we are with the premier dance school in the area. Whether you choose to dance recreationally or competitively, you can be sure your time is being put to good use. The school owner and staff are the most qualified and most experienced in the area. The school even holds workshops with one of the best Irish dancers/teachers in the world -- John Carey. Irish dance is not only a competitive sport for our daughter, but also a confidence builder. My daughter has been Irish Dancing for almost 4 years at Clarkson School of Irish Dance. I'm constantly amazed at the progress she continues to make. The wonderful, dedicated teachers really take an indivdualized approach to their classes/students, helping them perfect steps and technique. The opportunities for dancers of all ages are fantastic. I have a son that watched Lord of the Dance when he was 5 years old and couldn't stop moving his feet. Within 1 month of that night he was enrolled at Clarkson School of Irish Dance. It's been 2 years now and his excitment and love for the sport is just as strong as it was on his first day. He loves his teachers. They make class so much fun, but at the same time continually teach him to strive and push for more. He loves performing - so the year-round shows that the school does for other businesses or private functions are wonderful. The option to compete or not compete is up to him. Of course, his wall full of medals shows what his choice is. For me as a parent, I love seeing my child learn such self discipline at such a young age. He knows what he wants and he is willing to work very hard to achieve it. I'm amazed every day at how much self confidence this has given him. As a family, we are all very proud of our young man, and even more proud to be part of such a wonderful school. more

Being involved in Irish Dance at the Clarkson School of Irish Dance has been a very positive experience for our daughter in a number of different ways. Although she is very talkative at home, she often became shy and quiet around other people. Her participation in the Clarkson School of Irish Dance has bolstered her confidence and made her more outgoing around people. She often demonstrates her dance steps to any one willing to watch! Her dance classes have also taught her discipline with respect to listening to the teacher and following instructions. This discipline has translated well to her school, in that her teachers have commented on her poise and on how well she listens and obeys their instructions and does not bvecome distracted by the activities of other children. From a physical standpoint, our daughter's balance and coordination has improved greatly. She is now one of the best at jumping rope at school. We have been very impressed with the manner in which Mary Clarkson encourages and supports her students as they grow to learn and love Irish Dance. We have been very pleased with the progress that our daughter has made over the past two years and we look forward to a long relationship with the Clarkson School of Irish Dance. more
