Centre of Performing Arts first opened in Alamance County as the Eloise Glass Dance Studio in the early 1950s. Through the years we have grown from a one-room studio to our present status of 5 dance rooms and a dancewear shop. COPA offers the finest in quality dance instruction. Classes are available for beginner students from 1½ year olds through adults and provide a foundation for progress to advanced levels in many areas of dance. We are always open to suggestions for new classes to meet the needs of our growing "family." Students can improve their dance skills by working toward acceptance into a variety of audition groups or the apprenticeship program for older students. Through staff and student involvement, the Centre is active in Dance Masters of America. DMA is a leading national organization of dance educators and offers many opportunities for growth, for both students and staff. As studio host for the statewide Carolina Dance Masters October Syllabus Study and Exam Weekend and the February Winter Workshop, we also look forward to seeing our students participate in the Carolina Dance Masters Fall Convention and Miss Dance North Carolina Pageant at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
