I witnessed the cook (or kitchen help) go to the bathroom and not wash his hands. Yuk!!! I was so disgusted and when I brought it up to the waiter he said that he would bring it up to the Chef. After that nothing else was said about it. It would have been nice to hear that they scrub up or something in the kitchen. The food was ok, the ambiance was nice. I wont go back. I am scared to!! Pros: Nice Ambiance Cons: Food prepers need instructions from the health inspectors about cleanliness! more

Bring back the blue cheese potato gratin 1/8/2008

Central Market is a fun restaurant with great food. It gets packed on the weekeends and stays that way until late. The window seat in front is a great spot to people watch. Servings are a little on the small side- but the food is awesome. I am bummed they changed the menu & the Chef removed my favorite dish - a blue cheese potato gratin with an olive salad- BRING IT BACK !!!\r Not really a family place- good for couples and small groups. Parking is rough. Pros: ambience/food Cons: changed menu and no parking available more

Memorable good eats, great ambiance 10/24/2007

Everything at Central Market is really delicious, from their salads and side dishes to their main entrees and desserts. Try it soon. Very cool place. Kind of like being in NYC, not in Petaluma. more

Great food! 10/30/2006

This is a great wine country style restaurant in the heart of Petaluma. Wonderful atmosphere, great food, good wine and good service. The owners always make you feel welcome, and comfortable. Wonderful for a Friday or Saturday night dinner (reservations recommended but not required), and they sometimes have pre-fixe specials on the weekdays. The bar area is small and usually used for dining, but other than that, it is great! Pros: ambience, food, service Cons: bar is too small more
