Catfish Den

We went here at the request of our son for his graduation dinner. He wanted catfish... We had a party of 12 and one person enjoyed their meal. I ordered the salmon ... which was the special. It arrived to the table and was almost white in color, I thought maybe it was a marinade or sauce on top...it was just freezer burn. No seasoning to cover up the very old unfresh taste which I couldn't even swallow the first bite of. The $13 new york strip was a total of about 2-3 oz big and again no flavor other than card board. The fried green tomatoes were decent. The restaurant was so hot we were dripping sweat. We arrived at 6 and didn't get our check until 8. It was just awful. We are all sick, literally. It's not pretty at our household right now. I hate to be a hater... but maybe we can save someone some money and stomach ache out there somewhere. Oh my mom says the $3 baked potato wasn't bad..and I will say the onion rings were OK! Sorry Catfish Den, but that was the worst meal of my life... no exaggeration! 10 others agree. more

Seafood did not taste fresh, the steak was burnt and they didnt have the steak of choice, the salad......a handful of lettuce one onion ring,and a small tomato wedge, the beans came from a can. The only tasty side was the hushpuppies This was our third visit to the Den, and like the saying goes, three strikes, your out. I dont understand the other reviews, but this place aint fit fer eating. Oh yeah, and the price, way to much. If you want a great meal at a great price, go to ""Butlers Mill"". more

I've been eating at the Catfish Den for over 20 years, even before the location it's in now. If your a true southerner you will appreciate the southern cooked fish and chicken and huss puppies along with the great cold slaw and home made salad dressings. However should you hail from somewhere north of South Carolina, you probably don't have the ability to appreciate really good home cooked food. I'V WORKED @ THE CATFISH DEN A YEAR & I KNOW HOW HARD WE ALL TRY 2 MAKE YOUR VISIT AS ENJOYABLE AS POSSIBLE. SOMETIMES YES YOUR WAITRESS MAY GET BUSY BUT I PERSONALLY KNOW ALL OF OUR WAITRESSES & THEY ALL ARE GREAT & WILL DO THERE ABSOLUTE BEST 2 SERVE YOU 2 THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITY. Really enjoyed this local favorite. Third visit with friends and family so far and am going again very soon! Recently moved to GA from the West Coast and definitely wanted to dig in to the regional food here after a friend recommended the place (all you can eat catfish? I'm there!). Service was great, our waitress was a hoot, and the food was delicious. Nice prices too. Last visit, we arrived around 5:30 on a Friday, not too crowded yet, but by the time we left, the place was very busy. Definitely enjoyed the hot hush puppies (they have onion in them, which was a nice surprise). The catfish was hot and tender, and kept coming! Only wished that they had more variety of desserts (I was kind of expecting some kind of cobbler or sweet potato pie or something ""Southern"" like that). The chocolate pie was good though. Got there early to avoid crowd. First plate of fish was cold and greasy as if warmed over. There seemed to be very little batter on them. F.F. were not cooked done. We asked for some fish cooked a little more. These were alright but were told they used a light batter of mostly flour and a little meal. We then asked for some cooked in more of a meal batter. They bought 3 more cooked like this with 1 being partially cooked. Decided it was time to leave and never return. Cons: Terrible food more

They have the best seafood in Georgia!!!\r The food is worth all the waiting!\r The resturant has the most beautiful seafood theme inside & i would recommend this resturant to everyone. My family and I ate at the Catfish Den for the first time on Friday, and my was it good! The service was awesome, and the food was out of this world!!! My husband had all you can eat SNOW CRAB, and I had catfish, and sister had the SEAFOOD PLATTER. Oh is was so tasty! Our server done an outstanding job! She recommended all the right stuff. We decided to try this place since it was recommended, It was our Anniversary. The place is nice enough,but the food had no flavor, the service was poor, a waitress even had a loud out burst right in front of our table. Don't try this for a romantic evening. But at least one thing was good.....THE REST ROOMS WERE CLEAN!! Don't think we'll be going back. This place was really busy. We had to wait for a few minutes. The food wasn't as good as I expected. The server kept forgetting things. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I don't think we will be going back, but I would recommend for you to at least to give it a try. Pros: lots of fish, all you can eat Cons: service, middle of no where more
