Casablanca Salon & Day Spa

Visited Casablanca on a weekday for a brazilian bikini wax and a facial. Both were subpar-- the bikini wax was the fastest and least meticulous I've ever had; she was finished within 10 minutes (which was nice!) but definitely not clean--she left hairs and it looked messy. In regards to the facial, she was more concerned with keeping herself on time then my experience. For the first 10 minutes (until I could not take it any longer) she kept the humidifier pointed straight up my nose-- i couldn't breathe and ended up sick.\r You would think I would stop there-- but no-- when I arrived the instructed me to take off all my clothes and jewelry and put on a bathrobe.. everything was fine until i returned to get dressed and my yellow and white diamond pendant necklace slipped down the drain. I immediately went to the front desk and explained. They 'promised' me it would be fetched out of the drain trap and assured me that the water would remain off until the owner was able to check into it later that afternoon. I left hesitantly -- after being repeatedly assured and promised it would be returned. I called 3 times that afternoon and was told that the owner would not take apart the sink that night but that the water would remain off. The next morning I phoned and they said they could not find anything. I hired a plumber (a drain specialist) who came out and took the sink apart himself--his conclusion was that due to the weight of the pendant it would not have made it through the drain and pinpointed the spot where it would have 'lodged'. His quote was 'someone got here before I did'. I do not recommend this spa--beware.\r more

I found Melissa at Casabalanca through a friend that goes to her- she gave me the best cut with out taking to much of my long hair. She also gave me awesome highlights that were the perfect color..I can never find a stylist who knows what color I'm talking about! I left super happy- I highly reccomend Melissa. I got a gift certificate for my birthday from my wife who goes to get her nails done with heather. It was for a manicure and chocolate pedicure. When I recieved it I was very unsure about the chocolate pedicure, I had never heard of that before. But it was fun and very relaxing. I was greatful for the gift. Heather is very funny and great at what she does. I not get my nails done as often as my wife. more

I booked my daugther an appointment at Casablanca because I was sick of paying ridiculous prices over the hill. My daughter can be very picky but Julie did a great job on her blond highlights and gave her a cut she loved. We were both very happy! ( with the service and the price!) Pros: the service, staff and price Cons: none that I saw more

I went to casablanca for a facial with MARINA. She was amazing. She listened to what I was looking for in a facial and made a facial just for me and my skin type. Not everyone like to have the samething and she really made me feel special. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. When it was over it has hard for me to leave. Marina made me feel like I was at home. She is a very sweet women and I would recommend her to anyone. I know I will be back soon!! more

After seeing an awesome cut on a friend... i was referred to Mirza. ..She is the Best . She knows exactly how to cut hair to flatter any face!! Now I wont go to anyone else but her! She is so friendly and cheerful, you can tell she loves what she does, and puts alot of passion into doing hair. She is definately ""Born to style"" .. If you need a haircut and dont know where to go... I recommend Mirza! she will 100% satisify!!!! more

I had recently gone to a very well known ""hair colorist to the stars"" in West Hollywood for what I thought would be amazing blonde highlights. Instead I received attitude, and the worst blonde color I have ever had. It was literally orange and canary yellow! I left crying and called a friend for some advise as what to do and she said go to Casablanca in Sherman Oaks. I immediately called Casablanca and was greeted with the friendliest receptionist who said I could come in now for a consultation with Julie. I was so appreciative that they worked me into the schedule seeing that I didn't even call until after 3:00. When I arrived, Megan, the sweetest and most helpful receptionist took me to Julie who analyzed my hair and came up with an amazing formula to color correct and give me what I should have gotten at the other salon.\r I could not believe my eyes when Julie was finished! She literally removed all the orange color from my hair and in place added gorgeous creamy blonde highlights and caramel lowlights and she did everything without further damaging my hair! Julie is a perfectionist and a true color correction Queen! She is also so sweet as well as all the other employees I came in contact with. I am so GRATEFUL to Casablanca Salon for getting me in right away ,and to Julie for her amazing skills and many years of experience! Julie's a keeper forever! Personally, I've never known a hairstylist who could actually cut my hair the way I wanted it until I met Taylr at Casablanca. You know how it goes, you make a request to take a little off the sides, and end up with a mullet. Taylr is the first hairstylist i've ever had that cuts my hair exactly how I want it, and makes it look good. Not just simply a great hair stylist, Taylr will keep you entertained with her engaing personality, and wit. Not to mention you'll look good too! more

I have been getting my hair cut by Mirza for about a year. She is absolutely fabulous! She does exactly what I want, and is really helpful when I'm not sure what to do. My ex, who has really hard-to-deal-with hair, and his brother both go to her regularly, as well, so I know that she does an equally wonderful job with men. She also did some lowlights for me which looked wonderfully natural. I have not had anyone else at Casablanca cut my hair, but if they are anything like Mirza I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to everyone! more

I made my first appointment at Casablanca because of thier great review on CitySearch and I am so glad I did. Mickey was my stylist and Sheila did my eyebrows... they were both fantastic but from what I've seen I would trust anyone there. In fact, I have a hair apt. with Mirza tomorrow.. I can't wait! I have been trying to find a good stylist for years and after many horrible experiences, I've finally found her! \r No one has ever made my highlights look as natural as Mickey has and she gave me a great layered cut as well!\r She's also a very considerate and respectful person who really seems to enjoy what she does...what more could you want? I went to Michael with hair that had been botched by another colorist not one but three times, Michael saved the day. He nailed it first try. Go Michael. Usually I am very skeptical about going to a new salon for a haircut, my stylist of 6 years moved locations and was nowhere to be found, I was devastated. Thankfully I ran into Mirza @ my workplace and she handed me a business card. She was such a pleasant person...so much that she was the first person I thought of to go to. She was great! I never thought anyone could make me feel as comfortable as my old stylist but Mirza was even better. Sheila was also very professional and calm while answering facial questions for me. She gave me great samples without making me feel pressured at all!! Thankfully I followed my instinct to keep Mirza's card...I would highly recommend both of them! more

Casablanca has great ambiance, is clean and has plenty of parking (blessing in L.A.!). I'm fanatical about my hair - I don't spend a lot of time on it, but I just freak out when I watch it cut. My brother recommended Mirza and she made me feel very comfortable and knew what she was doing. My hair turned out great and grew-in even better. I've seen Mirza a several times and she has convinced me to add a little color, or ""glaze"" to even out the color. Never thought I'd do this, but you can't even tell its there and my hair looks much fuller. Now my brother gets highlights (which look really good for a guy) and I continue to get a ""glaze"". My husband and I have recently moved back to L.A., which we both we born and raised in. We immediatly called Papillons to sechule and appointment to get our hair done. We were then informed that the stylists we wanted were no longer there and they didn't' know where they were. The Casablanca Salon had been recommened to us and to our shock and delight we found both the stylists now working there. We immediately scheduled appointments with Charlene for my husband and Mickey for myself and couldn't be more delighted with the results. We will refer anyone who asks to your salon and ofcourse we will refer to Mickey and Charlene. Kudos to you for having found 2 of the best stylists in L.A. more

After getting a HORRIBLE and embarassing hair coloring at a Beverly Hills salon which I will not name, I was recommended to Mickey at Casablanca. She did the most beautiful color I have ever had. I was afraid there would be no way to fix my hair, but she specializes in color and color correction and she saved my unfixable hair. I walked out of there looking so fabulous with the most gorgeous hair I have ever had! I get so many compliments and everyone asks me who did my hair! The service there is great, the salon is beautiful, and I got a better color than I have ever had in a Beverly Hills salon for a much better price! My husband and I went to Casablanca after being recommended to Charlene. we were not disappointed. She colored, weaved and cut my hair beautifully for a reasonable price on the boulevard. My husbands hair was awesome as well. We found out that Charlene was a barber back in New York before moving to California. What a find for both of us. more

After reading the good reviews on Citysearch I decided to try a haircut at Casablanca. They were able to accomodate me the same day after hours as I work until 5:00. Mirza was my stylist and absolutely terrific. Professional, skilled and easy going. I highly recommend her. The salon is clean and inviting and I love my haircut. Prices are very resonable and I'll definitly be returning. This time for another hair cut and a facial! more
