Rory, our pilot for the jet boat, is as funny as he is knowledgeable. He pointed out the various arches, a mule deer swimming in the Colorado River, Thelma and Louise Point, Indian petroglyphs, and gave an informative summary of the geologic history of the area. He also stopped once to show us petrified wood that got caught in a mud bank thousands of years ago and is now part of the ""permanent"" geology of the area. We really enjoyed it and found it well worth the coin. Seeing Canyonlands National Park from below with Rory and then visiting it at the Island In The Sky gives two breathtakingly different perspectives on the same area.
