Kept going back 11/5/2013

I loved camp wabana ! I attended that camp for a couple years. We had campfires , sang songs and played games ; not once did we have to lick anything off the floor. So go ahead parents send your kids there! I guarantee they'll have a great time :) more

Best summers of my life 6/16/2013

I worked at Camp Wabanna as a counselor from 2005-2008 while I was in college and loved every minute of it. It was amazing watching kids come back year after year and see how they grew and changed. There were campers that went for 8 years straight and then returned as staff or counselors. Camp Wabanna provides kids with a safe, friendly environment that allows them to develop socially and spiritually. I can only hope that I'll get the opportunity to send my kids to experience camp Wabanna. more

No place like home 12/2/2011

Lets just say for this place is a home away from home. I get homesick when im away for to long. I have never been to a place anywhere better than here. The life long friends met her. The encouragement received here, its all incredible. Yes it has its fault because no one is perfect expect for God so why would this place be any different? But the problems faced here..ants, no air conditioning are problems that you would face at any camp. And for the record why do you need air conditioning? ( They use it when needed, no worries) If i were you this would be the only place i would send your child. After 11 years being involved with this organization i think its safe to say that this place is spectacular. Thank You Camp Wabanna for being a family when mine is not. more

Last year camp experience for 11 year old girl 2/23/2011

My daughter attended this camp last summer and hated it. She said, the best part was the chapel time. The worst part was no air-conditioning (b/c of budget cuts,) the ants crawling all over her face at night when she slept, the counselors bullying the kids with funny and not so funny jokes, being left in the cabin alone in the middle of the night b/c of the counselor leaving at night to do "whatever I don't know." The worst story I heard was the campers/children having to lick/slurp up spills of the cafeteria's floor if you spill your things. No cell phones allowed, considering what takes place here. I would NEVER send any of my children to this camp and would not recommend to anyone unless your child is totally tough and likes to rough it at this horrible camp. I couldn't believe my ears when she told me these stories, I was reminded to write a review when I received my flyer for the camp this year. more

Wabanna Rocks 7/24/2005

Wabanna sits on the water in Edgewater, MD. It is a Christian camp that meets the needs and interests of all ages, children to adults. They have an unusual item called the Giant Swing. It requires a person to be strapped into a harness and to wear a helmet. The person is then hoisted into the air by persons on the ground who pull the cables. At the desired height, the harnessed person pulls a cord which send them sailing through the air on what is truly a giant swing. There are many places on the grounds of Wabanna to find some quiet space where you can reflect on all of God's creation and the amazing array of life He created around us all. The camp also offers swimming in a pool or in the bay. The camp is open to local church groups. We used the camp for a summer picnic and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. more
