When we set out our objective was to celebrate a birthday party down at the river. We invited quite a few people, and hoped for a good time at the river. I called a few days before to confirm the price per person and was told it would be $10 a person! Quite different from the year before when it was $10 per car up to 4ppl. I asked are you sure this price is not per car? The person again clarified it would be "$10 per person". We then spread the word to our friends, sent out evites listing the price and hoped to see them there. When we arrived it was indeed $10 PER CAR as it had been the year before. I was misinformed, a little annoyed, but grateful of the lesser cost nontheless. After driving for an hour a friend of ours showed up with his dog. He was told he could not enter because there were no dogs allowed (except in the RV park, come to find out!) Understandable, rules are rules. (It was under the weight limit as the website states as well as on a leash, but unfortunately 10 ft. from the RV park,(where we were) would not suffice.) Moving on, once we learned of this unfortunate rule, we tried to talk to the staff to see if there was something we could work out, afterall he had just driven an hour to get there. Instead of being understanding, polite or compassionate the gentleman, or quite the opposite rather, was a rude, condescending, jerk, for lack of a better term!!!!! Once we had come to the conclusion that the staff would not work with us we pulled off to the side to discuss further options. That same LOVELY gentleman, whom I can only hope is NOT the owner of this place, proceeds to get into his truck and yell at my friend to "move out of the way". After passing my friend, he parks his truck and proceeds to walk over to us yelling "WHAT DID YOU SAY"? (he obviously expected us to say something when in fact, we had not) We responded telling him nothing was said to which he responded "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT"! I didn't take time out of my day to complain about the rules, I took the time to review this establishment because of the discourteous, inpolite, and offensive way in which we were treated. No business should be run this way whether it's a campground or a 5 star hotel and my hope is that with enough reviews like mine, something will change. In the meantime, we personally will be finding another river spot.
Pros: On the river
Cons: RUDE staff, Website misleading, terrible customer service!
