Still nice 8/5/2011

We had to change rooms 4 times due to noise issues: first nite was a convention, second nite street party,but the front desk people were great each time. Yes it is an old hotel but still nice as it was within a block of the start and finish of the marathon--also great to have the free airport shuttle. ALso next to the golden horseshoe shopping at the markets -got some great deals there as well more

Overall impressed 8/3/2011

hotel was very convenient to all the sites in EL Paso, however check in and out was very confusing. Front desk , stated that many of the hotels.com reservations were not coming through. Tried to double charge us! Breakfast buffet vouchers were hard to get, as we had to wait in check out line, every morning , to get vouchers. LONg lines! overall was impressed by hotel. more

Weekend rates are amazingly low 7/28/2011

This is a beautiful old hotel although it appears to falling into a little disrepair. The staff is cordial and friendly if young and not particularly refined. Weekend rates are amazingly low, the Beef Tenderloin at the bar was the best $18 dollar steak I've had in years. Downtown El Paso is a ghost town on the weekends, and I mean that in a good way. I'm considering this my secret weekend getaway as it is only a little over three hours from where I live and my wife loves it. more

Good stay 7/25/2011

If you're looking for something pretty classy for a decent price, this place is it. Loads of crown molding. There were a few annoyances, but they were very minor. One interesting thing is that we stayed on the 13th floor. The view of downtown El Paso is amazing. There was an outlet that didn't work, but it was the only outlet that was accessible. A drippy faucet. No microwave or refrigerator in the queen suite. The biggest annoyance was housekeeping. They failed at keeping the condiments stocked for the coffee maker and once we had to call them back because they simply forgot to clean our room. All in all in was a good stay. Very beautiful. more

My choice when I travel is El Paso 7/21/2011

Camino Real - Nice experience I travel often for both business and leisure so I stay at a lot of hotels. The Camino Real is one of my favorites. I have used the chain in Guadalajara and Juarez as well. It is an old Hotel with a magnificant bar and restaurant. The rooms were very spacious. The pool was nice and quiet. The charm of the Hotel was that of a "yesteryear" feel to it with all the modern conveniences of today. It was great to be close to interstate acces, downtown shopping and covered parking. My choice when I travel to the El Paso/Juarez area. more

The hotel room was nice and very clean. I was provided with clean towels daily. Housekeeping came by every day to clean the hotel. The pool was nice and it had a great breakfast buffet. more

Great hotel located downtown El Paso. Walking distance to many local bars of every type ;). The parking garage below the building is very secure and well lit with security cameras. The hotel bar is grand with the amazing dome. more

Staff was very helpful 6/17/2011

This is the second time I have stayed at this lovely old hotel. Staff was very helpful. Coffee shop has tasty food with attentive waiters. Room was adequate with comfortable beds. After having difficulty with the room temp. the desk quickly sent someone to explain the controls. Located within easy walk of several museums and music venues. Hotel celebrates 100 years in 2012 and would loved to have a booklet explaining some of its history. more

Convenient location 6/14/2011

My Husband and 23 year old son stayed here for the Sun Bowl Game. They said the room was very large, comfortable, and clean. They had a great breakfast buffet at the restaurant. It was in a convenient location, and they walked everywhere they needed to go. Juan at the front desk was very helpful, and the entire staff was friendly. They would not hesitate to stay here again. more

Very clean rooms 6/6/2011

A gem in El Paso Downtown! Stayed in the El Camino for Thanksgiving weekend. Hotel must have been recently renovated. Very clean rooms. The lobby and bar is a one-of-a-kind old world charm gem. Hotel staff was super friendly, waived parking fee and went beyond the call of duty to accomodate us. Hotel is perfectly situated in downtown with convention center and shopping, restuarants in walking distance. Would for sure stay again. more

Really nice 6/1/2011

Our room was really nice and clean. There were plenty of pillows which were a dream because you never get enough of them in other places. The Bath Body and Beyond Soaps and lotions were greatly appreciated by my significant other. It would be nice to add a two person whirlpool tub in the future or one of those shower curtains that bowout, aside from that it was great. Oh and a stereo or satellite radio would be a even better. more

can't beat the valueThe hotel is great for El Paso, probably the best in town. The Dome Bar is spectacular, and the Dome Restaurant is quite good. I was disappointed with the fact that the gym has been under construction, and the pool could use an update. Other than that, the value for the $ can't be beat, and its a great place with great service and a friendly staff. I enjoy coming to this hotel whenever I am in El Paso. more
