My experience with the Callahan School of Music has been wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and family like and the staff works especially well with young children. I was very impressed with how they incorporate computer learning with their private lesson programs. When I learned that the computer learning lab was included in the lesson fee I was really greateful because my children were getting a 45 minute lesson with computer lab for the same price as other schools and private teachers were charging for a 30 minute lesson. They also offer discounts for families with two or more children taking lessons so that has saved me some money. They also offer unique programs like the Houston Rock Academy for children who want to learn to play in a rock band and Friday night jam sessions for kids who want to hang out with experienced musicians and play side by side with them. It is great to find a school that is so focused on passing the art of music on to the next generation without all the hype or formality that you usually get from music stores and traditional private lesson teachers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for lessons.
