Fun for the whole family! We had a blast! 9/17/2010

The World's Biggest Dinosaurs in Cabazon, California is an awesome short excursion for the entire family...We had a blast! There are over 15 real-looking robotic dinosaurs, gemstone & fossil panning and dino dig where kids who find a special stone get a free dinosaur souvenir. My kids & grandkids just loved it! The path with over 60 statues of dinosaurs and other creatures makes a perfect photo op and leads to the famous Mr. Rex seen in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. You can climb up to the top and sit right where Pee Wee sat. The museum offers a contrasting view of intelligent design and evolution. Really interesting stuff. I noticed a picnic area where a family was celebrating a birthday party with about 30 kids and a dinosaur mascot was posing for pictures with them. Looked like so much fun for the kids. You can bring a picnic lunch too! Everything is nice and clean including the bathrooms (wonderful). A must stop if you are driving through the Palm Springs area. The admission is extremely reasonable, less than the price of a movie. more

Good dinos, but beware of hidden agenda 1/24/2010

The place certainly looks great from the freeway and up close the dinosaurs don't disappoint. The robotic dinos move and sound convincing, and the T-Rex is cool to climb into. That much is worth the entry fee for sure. However... from the outside, the place gives no hint that it is a fundamentalist christian organization determined to convince its patrons that man and dinosaur coexisted because ""the bible says so on the 6th day."" Posted in several conspicuous locations within the compound are (poorly spelled) signs talking about how carbon dating is wrong but a book with known factual issues must therefore be right. Even more hilarious are various displays showing a knight amongst dinosaurs and a WW2 era soldier hanging out in the jungle with velociraptors. Really?! Flintstones was not a documentary, guys. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the good ideas contained within the Bible, but crafting a dinosaur show to lure kids, and the kid-at-heart, and then blindsiding them with a ""science is faith too"" message just smacks of shady conduct. I'd be just as unhappy about this if I came in and it turned out to be a satanic cult running the operation. I paid to see a cool dinosaur show, not a half-wit brainwashing scam. Additional tip: Reading the signs may be hazardous to your brain. Symptoms of damage include inability to be objective and lashing out at skeptics. Pros: Dinos are well done Cons: Religious zealotry spoils the fun. more

A trip back in time 1/20/2009

Take a trip back in time with the Cabazon dinosaurs. Anyone who has made the trek across the desert should stop at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and take a quick photo. Pros: Fun slice of Americana Cons: Windy - bring a jacket more

NEW!! Mr Rex's Backyard Adventure. NOW OPEN!! 6/19/2008

WOW! What a fun place. My family and I recently visited the World's Biggest Dinosaurs and had a GREAT time in their new museum and park! The kids loved the robotic dinosaurs in the museum. They even got to ride on two of them! They have a great fossil cave at the entrance of the museum. Pros: Very family friendly, great helpful staff, outdoor misting system keeps you cool, lots of easy parking. more

DOnt miss this... 10/6/2003

If youre off on a mini roadtrip/getaway, you defintely want to stop and check this out. If you appreciate the mid-century vibe of Palm Springs, than this is something you defintely don't want to miss. Two giant dinosaurs overlook the desert valley, a T-Rex and brontosoraus. There's a kitschy gift shop built in the belly of one of the beasts. The scene of many movies, it rates right up there with ""The Cadillac Ranch"" as far as roadside googies. To add some fun, check out the wide assortment of whoopee cushions the giftshop has before you pass the 100 windmills just before you enter Palm Springs. Look to your left and spot the Shell gas station. Pros: Free more
