Butcher Block

I just tried the Butcher Block in Fort Smith, I normally get my meat from Wal-mart. I always thought the Butcher Block would be a lot more expensive. I was wrong. Not only did I get really good ground chuck, and a stuffed roast but I paid less for it than I had to pay for hamburger from Wal-mart. I was greeted with smiles and actually helped. My meat was put in freezer paper at no extra charge and they carried it out for me. I didn't know places like this still existed. I just hope they last another 30 years. more

I have been going to the Butcher Block for nearly 20 years now and have NEVER encountered any bad customer service. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome and are waited on hand and foot. The people who work there are one in a million and are so helpful when it comes to the cut of the meat to the preparation and cooking of it. The Butcher Block is owned by a local family from Greenwood, I believe, and are Christians as well as responsible, caring people. Now for the gift card situation, I haven't heard of any incident of where the Butcher Block has rejected a gift card that wasn't reasonably out of date, so I don't quite believe her story completely. The Butcher Block is a great place, great food, and are altogether wonderful people. Instead of basing it off some internet site, why don't you go in there and base your opinion on how your treated and the quality of beef you will find there. more

I hate to write such a bad review, but I have had a terrible time trying to get satisfaction from this business. I found a gift certificate that had been misplaced. My problem is that the gift certificate expired less than a month ago. I called to see if they would redeem it - even for partial credit. NO WAY!!! I have called several times, but the manager is NEVER in to answer my question and the person on the phone always says that only the manager can make that decision. Unfortunately the manager doesn't keep regular hours and is "in and out". Conveniently, they aren't allowed to give names over the phone, so I can't even find out who I am supposed to ask. I called several other meat markets in town saying that I had a gift certificate from their store that expired and asked if I could still redeem it. They all said that it wouldn't be a problem at all. Paul's Meat Market was the friendliest about it. I just wish that the gift certificate was from there. I know where I wi more
