STAY AWAY! 1/20/2014

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Let me start off by saying I had no idea who Albert Manzo was until after I met with him and went home and looked up reviews about him. I wanted to see if I was the only one who had a bad experience, but I was not. I went in for a tour to possibly have my wedding at The Brownstone. First thing we noticed was that there were FOUR parties going on at the same time and the music was SO loud. After we waited about 15 minutes to meet with Manzo he was nothing but rude and unprofessional. There were four other people in the office watching the football game on the TV. I thought this was SO rude. I have never met with a manager with anyone else in the room like that. Another thing he did not explain any of the packages at all. He just said this is what we have. HE did not even try to sell the place to us. My fiancé and I felt as if we were being judged the entire time we were sitting there. I felt so disrespected. WE have been to eight other ban more

The Worst Facility in NJ 6/3/2013

I've been in the entertainment industry for 20+ years and this is the ONLY facility in the tri-state area where I refuse to work at. It is THAT bad there! I have turned down a multitude of jobs over the years where I was asked to work as a result of those events being held at the Brownstone. I also have a number of associates who are TOP performers in their field that have the EXACT same policy regarding this pit. The joke in my business among other company owners when asked if a place is bad to work at is this question: "Is it Brownstone-esque'?" (Meaning it is the benchmark for a horrible facility) I highly recommend that you research the reviews on non-biased sites such as this one before paying to have your special day ruined. (Not sites such as the knot, wedding wire, etc. where positive reviews can be bought or manipulated.) I've heard from everyone that has done business with them say that they offer a fairly good price for events but as the old saying goes; you get what you pay more

The Brownstone is a Joke 3/28/2012

All on thread.... the place is a dump. If you are white trash from Lodi you get married there. Come on what do you expect, it's in Paterson the biggest garbage dump in NJ besides Camden. The food sucks, the people are guido mongoloids who run it. .. I read something about a stray cat, I am suprised you did not see a crack dealer!!! more

Brownstone is NOT a gem!!!! 7/24/2011

My fiance and I looked at the Brownstone today....DISGUSTING! The location was awful....ghetto.....We were definitelty not greeted with drinks and trays for food as previously stated by another reviewer. Needless to say we will never go back. There was absolutely no parking and the valet did not even try to help us even after telling them we had an appointment. We met with Al and he had nothing ready for us....didn't even stand up to greet us or shake our hands. He printed out several different menus and explained them to us and then gave us a tour. He told us he didnt understand why they booked an appointment for today because he had nothing to show us....there were no weddings planned. We walked outside to the Conservatory and as we passed the brickwall on the side of the building there was a stray cat eating a can of tuna someone dumped on the wall. Al saw the cat there and didnt shoo the cat away, he simply looked and continued on. We counted 5 stray cats running around. The rest more

THANKS 3/11/2011

Okay I need to speak the truth. I experienced and incident at the Brownstone and at first was very disappointed. We held our biggest fundraiser (tricky tray) and at the end of the night, someone walked off with one of our grand prizes a laptop and printer. THANK YOU TO THE BROWNSTONE'S VIDEO SURVELIANCE WE WERE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE INDIVIDUAL. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP IN SOLVING THIS MYSTERY. more

Can't Wait for my Wedding! 2/15/2011

I think its hysterical that the bad reviews of the Brownstone only seem to be in the last few years that the Housewives have been on tv. Have any of you bad reviewers actually been to the Brownstone? The service and food are exceptional, the place is beautiful. When I went to meet with one of the owners to discuss the possibility of having my wedding there, he offered us drinks and brought out trays of food. We were treated with the utmost respect. Their prices are completely reasonable, we had visited 2 places that weren't nearly as nice and the Brownstone's prices were cheaper and we were offered more! Needless to say, we booked our wedding there... Everyone we have spoken too (including vendors) have said what a great choice we have made. Please don't listen to the bad reviews, try the Brownstone for yourself, I promise you, you won't be disappointed! more

Salty tale 12/16/2010

Poor service, dirty restrooms, lousy food, very over priced. Our luncheon for around 100 people & had three non-english speaking waiters. I saw no type of management personnel. For $35 per person we should have had much tastier fare. The ziti was evidently left over from another dinner, and it was quite an ordeal to get enough food to serve the 12 people per table setting. We were told the upstairs restrooms were out of order and the many seniors in our group were sent to the basement to use the facilities.\r The quality of the Brownstone has been declining over the years and is about close to the bottom as can be. \r PLEASE,PLEASE TAKE THE SALT SHAKER OUT OF THAT COOKS HANDS! more

Veronica D- Wedding 12/1/2010

The Brownstone is FABULOUS!!!! I had my wedding reception there on Aug 14, 2010 and it was the most amazing wedding, We met with Albert on three occassions and on all three occassions he was kind and helpful. My only complaint was that we were never called for a food tasting so my mom and in-laws never got to taste the food beforehand. On the other hand, Albert gave my father, husband and myself dinner while we decided to book or not. That made our final decision...because the food was so good. At the wedding, the staff was more than I could ever have asked for. My husband and I were catered to every second of the night. They were always there and had everything I could have imagined before I even asked. I did not have to ask for anything throughout the night. I am friends with my florist who not only did my floral arrangements but was a guest as well. He stated the kitchens are clean and staff has always been kind to him. The food was amazing and our family has not stopped talking abo more

Worst Venue Ever 11/6/2010

Horrible, they overbooked my weeding room and had a costume party going on in the weeding reception area. The owner Albert is one of the worst host to orchestrated a weeding with. Beware!!!!!!!!! Worst choice ever...... more

MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!! 9/25/2010

My father use to work at the brownstone as a chef and I was always with him and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is magnificent I met with the owner of the brownstone and he is a hard worker and a very great boss.I also met the other chefs and waiters and they are very nice. The service is fantastic and is a great place to have a nice dinner,or a nice party, or a romantic wedding. I reccomend this place to anyone! more

Shameful Experience 9/20/2010

As part of the team providing photography & music for a committment ceremony recently held at The Brownstone, I was astonished by the open distain and hostility the staff exhibited toward, not just us, but particularly toward the couple.\r We were all treated like some unsavory characters they wanted kept hidden from a prying public eye.\r Few, if any, of the pre-ceremony accommodations promised the couple were fulfilled.\r Since The Brownstone accepted the couple's money, they were obliged to honor the contract.\r Regardless of your lifestyle, if you are planning a catered event, DO NOT look to the prejudiced, hypocritical Brownstone in Patterson, NJ. more

Alby Manzo 9/10/2010

Worst Chicken Picata 8/19/2010

Worst Chicken Picata I have ever ordered. My daughter's baby shower, Local pizza shops do a better job. When I called to tell them how disappointed I was, they did not care. If you care about the food, don't use the Brownstone more

Hate The Brownstone 8/17/2010

Worst place ever!!!! I called The Brownstone to first make an appointment with the banquet manager. I was told an appointment was not necessary, however I wanted to make sure someone would be there since it would be a 45 minute drive for me to get there. The rude woman on the phone assured me that someone would be available however I may have to wait a few minutes. I said that was fine. When I got there, the same rude woman asked me if I had an appointment! I told her I was told BY HER that I did not need one. She told me to wait while she got the banquet manager. 10 minutes later, I was ushered to the office and proceeded to speak with him. He was so unprofessional, he was constantly suffling papers on his desk never looking up at me. He also gave me a different price from which was advertised for a sweet 16 event. There were also 2 other workers in the office swearing back and forth to each other and talking about clients. After 15 minutes, I had enough and left. My bigg more

Wedding 7/13/2010

We went to the Brownstone for the second visit and were utterly disappointed. The man I met with gave us totally different prices from the first meeting we had with him and implied we were lying. He contradicted himself multiple times and was even rude by playing with his watch while my mother was asking him a question. If you don't know someone there or don't drop a name, they treat you very different. Unfortunately, the food is amazing, but I would never trust the service there on the most important day of my life. They treat you like a number. I'm assuming since the show is more popular, they figure that they will be booked no matter what, so they don't have to impress you.\r Lastly, it's like a factory there. As much as they tell you that it doesn't matter that there's multiple events going on, it does!\r Thank god we didn't book it there. more

GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! 6/12/2010

I SET UP FOR MY OWN WEDDING! They have NO idea what they are doing here, they run way too much stuff at once and don't care what you have to say. Got there 15 minutes before my reception was to begin and there were NO centerpieces! My guests were arriving and I was setting up, missed taking pictures- DIDNT EVEN GET A SORRY!!!! The food is not that great. The prices are on the lower end because you get the lower end. Go to the Tides or better yet Portobello in Oakland! Disgusting waste of time and money here.\r \r Oh and one more thing: THEY ALL GIVE DIFFERENT PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Test it for yourself. more
