Best Italian in Memphis 4/27/2008

I have gone to Brooklyn Bridge since I was a child and I love it! The Lasagna is great, the Penne with Vodka cream add chicken is another favorite! I love the NY atmosphere, its romantic, and I love the caramel pie! The pizza's rock and so does the service! Pros: food, service, caramel pie, and the romantic atmosphere more

Severely disappointed 1/4/2008

My husband and I ate here in 2007 after hearing from others that it was very good. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was good, although not memorable. I ordered lasagna, and my husband ordered veal. My lasagna was the worst I have ever had, and the most expensive. It was bland, with mushy pasta, and not enough meat, but too much cheese. My husband's veal was passable. We decided to skip dessert. We have never gone back. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, so I was rather disappointed by the quality. I've been to chains that did better. Pros: Service and ambience was pleasant. Cons: Food was not worth the price. more

Good location, disappointing fare 8/20/2007

First, Memphis has very little great food in the suburbs, it's full of lousy chains. This place although independent, is a rather poor attempt at great Italian food. There is nothing innovative here sorry to say. more

A nice surprise! 6/14/2007

I had been here years ago, and honestly couldn't remember anything about the food. So we decided to try it out last night. The shrimp appetizer was INCREDIBLE. The salad was just average, nothing to write home about. I got the Chicken alla Florentina, and it was delicious. I took the proscuitto off of the top, so I cannot rate that with the chicken, but the chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy, and the spinach florentine was yummy. My friend got the lasagne, and said it was amazing. The ONLY complaints I might have had was the waiter seemed to keep forgetting about us, or else was just really busy - and the wine (white) was warm. I tossed a couple ice cubes in it to chill it, and after that it was fine. Will absolutely be going back, and bringing friends! Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: parking more

Hostess/owner was not interested in our business. We will not bother her again. 12/6/2006

I have eaten at Brooklyn Bridge many times in the past but not recently. Tonight I went with friends who had a $15.00 coupon. Because I have eaten there as many times as my friend I asked if we could have the same coupon. The hostest/owner said that her marketing department only sent the coupon to one zip code. Sorry, we were out of luck. Tough meat tough luck. We will not bother her again. Cons: Hostess/owner was not interested in business outside her zip code. more

Nice Try 9/24/2006

but the food is nothing thoughtful at all, nothing mind-blowing, it's two steps up from Olive Garden, I'd PASS Pros: good location for sure Cons: Not much better than Olive Garden more

You MUST have NO experience eating true Italian 12/11/2005

..if you think this place is somehow exceptional...maybe it's exceptional to Memphis, but people even in Nashville would grade this an inferior food Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Insulting to NYC 1/11/2005

No one in Brooklyn NY would eat here, that's why they moved to Memphis I guess more

To die for! 8/28/2002

I doubt I have words to adequately describe the incredible Penne Rappe, Lasagna, and Caramel Pie featured at Brooklyn Bridge. Do yourself a favor and try this little gem. You won't be sorry. Pros: Worth the wait, Good value, Excellent food Cons: More parking, Sometimes a long wait more

Brooklyn Bridge is Fallin' down 8/17/2002

Brooklyn Bridge is Fallin Down.."" Simply and unfortunately, as ""impostor"".... food tastes like it was mass produced, or in a boil-in bag...simply awful...this place wouldn't last in Brooklyn NY Pros: location Cons: the food more

Real NY Italian 8/15/2002

My boyfriend is from Brooklyn and says this is the ONLY Italian restaurant in memphis to get the real deal. Wine list is adequate, atmosphere is casual yet romantic and the food is always well prepared. Great NY style pizza and the lasagna amalfitano is to die for. Pros: good parking Cons: can't bring own wine more

Little Italy, romance in the air 8/7/2002

There is only one place in Memphis for Italian food and this is it. Consistently serving the best homemade Italian, along with great service. Great for couples or even a dozen. The prices are not out of line, better than most of the so-called chain eateries that attempt to serve Italian cusine. Pros: reasonable prices, Great ambiance, Free parking more

best Italian food west of Brooklyn 8/1/2002

This place is typical of the little mom and pop places you find all over the northeast, but a rarity here in the midsouth. The owners are always there and they make you feel like part of the family. The food is classic southern italian with a flair of elegance. the protions are generous and the desserts to die for. If you like NY style thin crust pizza theirs is in a class by itself! though not for the budget conscious, for the service and quality of food served the prices are just right. Pros: Food Quality, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Price, Location more
