Thomas Keller is a culinary genious, and since i don't want to spend over $300 for dinner at his french laundry restaurant anytime soon, i'll enjoy his french bakery called bouchon. everything there is amazing, and going earlier in the day is better since they sell out.
The second I walked in I was amazed by the selection they have in this tiny little bakery store. The line was long (out the door) but it gave you time to think what you want. 2 of us ordered 2 panini's, a
Chocolate eclair, Vanilla creme-filled eclair, hazelnut macaroon, expresso macaroon, and a unknown pastry. They are all SO delicious especially the macaroons. I am a fan of macaroons and they are usually rather hard and crewy even I had those in France at a little farmers market in Lyon, they are still rather crewy. At Bouchon, their macaroons are surprisely cakery. Flaky on the outside and soft & cakery inside. It has a layer cream filling in it too. They are only $3 each, what a great deal as they are very large and tasty! Now I regret that I just got 2.
