Their food is great - spaghetti, chef salads....everything!

Excellent Grinders! 10/4/2011

The owners here really make you feel at home. They're very friendly and make sure everything is to your liking. Everything I've had here has been great but I particularly love the grinders! The only reason I don't go here more often is that I don't live or work nearby. more

Just dont even think of eating here 9/8/2011

Don't get the breakfast! 1/16/2010

I got the french toast and sausage. It was pretty bad. The sausage tasted like it was microwaved! It was pretty bad and tasted like rubber. I choked down one and left the other two. The french toast was on some different kind of bread. That wasn't great either. I didn't even eat one whole piece. Don't sit next to the windows...the booths are way too small to even get comfortable. The waitress weird and we felt uncomfortable the whole time. My boyfriend got the french dip and he said it was pretty good so maybe its just the breakfast that sucks. I probably won't get going back. Cons: Food more

Metro Dining Club members AVOID THIS RESTAURANT........ 9/14/2009

EVERYONE avoid this restaurant !! CUSTOMER ABUSE! 9/12/09 - This was the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long, long time. We purchased the MDC cards to try new restaurants....and I assume Boston Garden signed up to gain new customers! My ""Boston Garden"" Metro Dining Card reads: Enjoy one complimentary pizza when a second pizza of equal or greater value is purchased - value up to $10.00 (carry out only). I ordered 2 medium pizza's - one w/ 3 toppings and one w/ 2 toppings anticipating the 2 topping pizza would be free. Upon pick-up, the female running the front counter charged me $14+. WOW!! After viewing my receipt, I asked her why she only gave me credit for one basic cheese pizza ($6.95) and not the additional 2 toppings (again, card does NOT say complimentary CHEESE pizza, it says complimentary PIZZA when one of equal or greater value is purchased). She proceeds to give me some lame explanation that I questioned (given how the card reads after all). She then asks the Manager/cook (could have been the owner for all I know) to ""explain to me how the credit on the dining card works and why I am not receiving credit for the entire second pizza"". He RUDELY says (right in front of me) ""just give her what she wants, I'm not going to stand here and ARGUE about it"". He then adds ""it's not like our prices aren't cheap enough as it is"". Even though he directly insulted me (the CUSTOMER) and I stood there aghast, I remained quiet and it took all of my patience to refrain from saying ""$14 is NOT a ""cheap"" Medium pizza - I'd just like what you have ADVERTISED""!! It was very obvious from their reaction that I haven't been the first customer to question their credit policy on the MDC cards. However, does the rudeness stop here?? No, no, no!! The woman, attempting to give me my refund, kept punching and pounding the register keys - literally like a 5 year old - whining that it wouldn't open. Finally, the Mgr opened the drawer and gave me the money due back to me (how dare I ask for what was advertised!!!). The outright rude and abusive behavior was inexcusable. The lack of maturity of these two was amazing - I was so embarrassed for them and it was uncomfortable to watch and be a part of. My only regret is that I didn't give both pizza's back and demand a full refund (on top of all this, pizza's were nothing special and one was smaller than the other besides). Boston Garden....Marketing Lesson 101....if you only want to give away a CHEESE pizza, then it should SAY CHEESE pizza (all toppings extra), NOT COMPLIMENTARY PIZZA. AND....you could have limited the VALUE at $6.95 !!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did you not gain a new customer by your disgusting utterly obnoxious behavior, but you got this nice review to boot. Way to go.......that's the way to gain and keep new business!! People....There are plenty of other places to dine in Hopkins.....seek them out! No one should have to endure such inexcusable customer abuse. The ""cheap prices"" they claim does not give them the right to insult you. If you are taking in the $2 movie.....spend a few bucks more on dinner and go anywhere but here. It was a hideous experience and I will never set foot in this dive again. From reading some of the other reviews, sounds like I'm not the only disgusted ex-customer! Pros: Not a thing! Cons: Customer Abuse! more

Still that hometown feel! 3/1/2009

This resturant has been around for a long time, and it is obvious by the decor, but everything about it still has the hometown feel. I love their spaghetti with meat sauce and cheese on the toast - I have been having that for years and it is still good. The husband and I have also had their pizza and subs, very good. As well as their salads, they put a little seasoning in the salad that makes it great. Don't expect super fast service but it the same as every other resturant out there, plus their prices haven't gone up like everyone elses and you still get the same amount of food. Highly recommended for all :) Pros: great food & pricing Cons: parking is tight at times plus cofirm hours, they are different then listed on this site at times. more

Worst restaurant I've ever been to! 5/9/2008

The food was horrible, and the service was worst. It literally seemed as though they were trying to do a bad job. They certainly couldn't have done worse. We got food we didn't order, we didn't get food we did order, they charged more than the advertised price, they gave us an empty bottle of ketchup and refused to bring more, entrees came out piecemeal and up to 15 minutes apart, etc. When we asked to have the price of the food we didn't order and didn't eat, they graciously removed $2 of the $15 bill for those items.\r \r In summation, I don't think I'll go again. Pros: Ample parking Cons: Everything else more

Great food! Terrible Waitress 3/9/2008

The food was great! Very tasty! A friend and I met to have lunch on Sunday afternoon. She got there before I did and was sitting at a booth waving at me when I arrived. I sat down and I barely had my coat off when the waitress asked, (in a loud demanding voice) if we were ready to order. Obviously, Not yet, could I have a glass of water please? Sure. Awhile later she came back and barked at us asking if we were ready to order, my friend and I were talking, not having seen each other in months we had a lot to catch up on. No, we're not ready to order, we'll probably be talking for a while, could I have a glass of water please. Checking back with us was not the problem, it was her barking at us that unnerved us. And she wouldn't stop the whole time we were there. When we finally got our immediate jabbering out of the way and got to look at the menu, my friend had a few questions. There was no lack of the waitress checking back on us, she was right there. When the question was posed, my friend received a quite abrupt response and almost an argument when my friend asked another question. The response from the waitress felt like we must have insulted her or the restaurant. Shortly after the food arrived, the waitress asked if we wanted a box. Well, after a few bites, I guess I wasn't sure and said that. When we were leaving, I looked down as I put my coat on and noticed the floor was filthy. I don't mean dirty, I mean filthy. There was no way a tile floor could get that dirty between 7AM and 2PM. So, with that said, what score can I give them? That's why I gave 3 stars. I may order food for takeout but I won't eat in there again. Pros: Parking is close, food is great. Cons: Crabby and abrupt Waitress, filthy floor. more

Great Philly Cheese Steaks! 5/11/2006

I grew up eating ""Philly"" Cheese Steaks in Philadelphia. Bosten Garden has the best I have found in the Twin Cities. more

Old-school Hopkins and Great Food! 5/4/2006

My husband and I are semi-regulars at Boston Garden, since we live in the area. It always delivers good food for a great price. It's a very casual atmosphere and not the fanciest place on the block, but you CAN'T beat the food for the price. The ravioli is a particular favorite of mine and the spaghetti is great. Try it out for breakfast too! more

Woohoo for spaghetti! 7/12/2004

This is a great restaurant for a large bowl of spaghetti and garlic bread for under $5! And right down the street is the $2 Movie theatre! It's a great cheap date! :) I highly recommend Boston Garden! Pros: Good value, Good spaghetti, Good location more

My kind of place 6/14/2004
