OK......SORRY BONEYARD BUT 1 STAR! should be 0 star\r \r Been here before and it was always good, I wouldn't say great but good/solid. I am not a craft beer guy so that doesn't help. (when did Microbrew turn into 'Craft'?)\r \r Friday night with some friends. 4top\r \r Ordered drinks...fine\r Ordered apps. 1x cevice 2x fried dates.\r \r Fried dates were good\r \r Strike 1. Got a plate of heirloom tomatoes instead of cevice. (We'll forgive)\r \r The cevice once it was brought out was sweet and unappetizing (Foul)\r \r Since we were 4 we decided on: ""The Evanator(2 to 4 People)\r Rack Each of the Ribs, Pulled Pork, Tri Tip, Brisket, 1/2Chicken, Lg. Mac, Cole Slaw, & Beans $85""\r \r The sides were good.\r \r The meat was COLD!!!! (Strike 2)\r \r Asked waitress to heat it up (my friend who made the reservations was mortified)\r \r She brought it back LUKE WARM AND BURNT ON THE OUTSIDE. (Strike 3)\r \r I was angry, I have worked in the restaurant business in the past and this is completely unacceptable\r \r I rudely said ""This is crap"" (my bad, foul on me) and said I would like them to bring us a 'NEW' one. \r \r Guess what - now our food was brought out again....the same food....burnt to a crisp on the outside LUKE WARM!!! (STRIKE 4?)\r \r What a joke. Since we were here with friends we rarely see, we decided to grin and bear it but I assure you if this was just the Mrs and I we would have walked out. \r \r We all picked at it....when the waitress came by she asked if we would like it to go....the ongoing joke at this point was ""yes please...we can then take it home and heat it in the microwave""\r \r So.....check comes out. No offer of dessert or drinks because of the trouble - AND-........the heirloom tomatoes that we never ordered and were replaced were on the tab!!!!!!!!!\r \r What a @#$%&!!!!! joke of a place this is. \r \r Bill was $200 (we drank and had apps)\r \r Sooo dissaponted and feel ripped off\r \r Thanks for listening!!!\r \r xxoo more

Thanks For the Food Poisoning!!! 9/22/2010

I had a delicious Kobe burger with Blue Cheese for dinner. I was having a splendid sleep until I was awakened by stomach pains that had me performing evacuations from both ends. I lost two days of work from this incident and had to hire a baby sitter to look after my son while Daddy was puking his brains out for two days. Thanks Bone Yard!!!? more

Amazing Restaurant, with Exceptional Service, Food, Beverage 8/8/2010

Wow! This restaurant is awesome! The food was different and so delicious. They have all kinds of different California micro brewery beer, and you can get it in $2 glasses so the beer won't get cold. They had so many different flavors, and their wine list is extensive. We topped it off with good coffee and an awesome desert. The bartender was wonderful. The service was the best we had all had in a long, long while. Can't wait to go back. Oh, and the decor was great too! more

What A Nightmare 12/26/2009

I've eaten here a dozen times and the food is usually B+/A- at best. But it is close to my home and my wife wanted BBQ. The service was slower than usual, tables that came after us were served and had left before we received our entree. My wife had to ask where our meals were and when they arrived the chicken I had ordered was not hot, more room temperature. I told the waitress I would eat it but that she should be aware that it had obviously been sitting while my wife's ribs were being plated. Well this brought down the wrath of the owner, who accused us in a very loud and angry tone that we knew nothing about the restaurant business and were trying scam a comped meal. His exact quote was, ""I bet you do this all the time"" He said he would pack our food and send us on our way. When I insisted on paying he grew even angrier and said he didn't want my money. I told him I wasn't leaving until I got the bill. I paid the bill, left 20% for the waitress, and came home to write this review. Pros: The Caesar Salad Is Great Cons: Bad, Bad, Bad Management more

Ill-managed 4/2/2009

We arrived at the exact time of our reservation but there were no tables. Since there isn't a bar, there was no place to wait except to stand by the entrance. With no apologies, we were asked to wait outside (in the rain) for a table to open up. We left and will not return. Are they new to the business? Why would I ever make a reservation there again when they don't take them seriously? Pros: Some people like it Cons: Don't honor reservations, no space for waiting more

Booooo 12/27/2008

Worst ribs I've ever had. Even Chillis does a better job. Save your money and go there, at least their baby-back ribs have a catchy jingle! Pros: A small intimate bistro Cons: bad service, bad food, high prices, pretentious staff more

Disapppointed 9/15/2008

Like the other reviews...save your money...the BBQ ribs on the dry side....and chewy...the pulled pork dumplings...don't bother...to sweet...bake beans the worst I've ever had...what did you do to them....everything was over priced....only one type of wine by the glass and over priced...good beer slection though and desert...sorry!!!!! more

Don't even bother...save your money 7/27/2008

This was the worst barbecue I have ever eaten. I took a chance and ordered the short ribs. They were dry and had very little flavor. My boyfriend ordered the rib combination wanting to try all three, he was happy with none of them. They were dry...no tenderness. If not for the extra sauce, he would have thrown it all away. Even the corn bread was dry. The one saving grace was their selection of beers and the cheerful waitress. Need to bury this boneyard in the graveyard. Pros: service and beer Cons: food more

Best BBQ Ever! 6/20/2008

In 30 years of travelling the midwest (incl. texas) this is hands down the most incredible bbq I have ever eaten, and that includes the backyards of some kansas city and texas folks who take their bbq very very seriously (including my own!).\r \r We ordered several ""sampler"" platter of bbq dishes to feed 6 of us, and every single food item on the platter was beyond delicious. Each selection of tri-tip or rib was perfectly cooked, the fried mac and cheese was a great twist, and the bbq sauces were so good I felt a little ashamed of the way I was eating (and I do not shame easily). The cole slaw was also a new spin on an old favorite, both original and flavorful. Normally cole slaw is not really my thing, but I ate every bite. A few weeks have passed since this experience, but I still think about those ribs from time to time (not kidding).\r \r As for the price, I can't remember exactly what the food cost because by the time the check came, I just didn't care. I would taken out a loan for another plate of those ribs. Having said that, I believe the food was reasonably priced. ;)\r \r The service was prompt and friendly, which was a nice touch since the place was packed. more

Delicious!!! 6/7/2008

I went there last night with a girlfriend and then had to bring my boyfriend back tonight. This place has amazing food. Try the calamari, the brie nachos, the ceviche, the chopped salad...\r Tonight I had the salmon which was served on a yummy bed of quinoa. My boyfriend loved his pulled pork sandwich, too. Honestly, I haven't had a thing here that I don't like!!\r \r The atmosphere is casual cool...I don't feel like I have to dress up, but I also don't feel like I would be out of place if I did. Aaron is a great chef and spends a lot of time talking to his patrons. This place is a new favorite, for sure! Pros: Great food, nice owner/chef, great location, innovative dishes, thursday night no corkage! Cons: expensive wine list more

Yummy 2/11/2008

This place is absolutely yummy! Love the pulled chicken and the baked mac and cheese. The beer flights are so much fun and go great with the food. GO THERE! more

Cater your next event 11/16/2007

I actually had a presentation with a group of people and was looking to bring food for around 20 people. Saw this BBQ place and decided to give it a try. I am sure glad we did! The tri-tip, the ribs, the pork, the chicken, the fried mac n cheese....all EXCELLENT! Every single person who attended was commenting on how great the food was and asked ""where did you get this?"" Thanks Boneyard Bistro...we closed the deal! more

Great BBQ & Burgers 10/11/2007

My friend and I both Southerners decided to give Boneyard Bistro a try. We decided to share the kobe beef Classic Burger and the St. Louis ribs. They were both so good. We also had a side of the fried mac'n cheese with the hot sauce. The burger was so juicy and we added the blue cheese and it brought out the flavors of the beef and the applewood smoked bacon. The bun was so soft. The ribs were juicy and the sauce is very good. I highly recommend. We were going to get the baby backs and the chef recommended the St. Louis and it was good choice. They bring out some bread and these little corn muffins which are so good. Pros: Food, Nice Restaurant Cons: Not open for Lunch more

Big Let down 10/4/2007

We arrived at the restaurant and the place was about 1/4 full. We asked if we could sit in a booth, but the host/waiter said that he had to check on the reservations. He came back and finally gave us an open table like he was doing us a favor. It took forever to get a couple of waters. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see that wine was 1/2 off with a great selection. We ordered the 1/2 Chicken with the side of collards and baked beans, and my fiance had the baby back ribs with cole slaw and french fries. I have to say that the chicken and the ribs were disapointing because they were both very, very dry. Also, the collard greens were far from green. They were absolutely terrible. The only part we enjoyed were the cole slaw and baked beans which were delicious. I have to say the main reason I went there was for the ribs, as there are not too manyu rib joints in town. But, for good ribs, I would head up the street a couple of blocks to Mr. Cecil's. Pros: wine was reasonably priced as it was 1/2 off Cons: The meat is way too dry more

Mmmm.... Try the Burger! 5/24/2007

LOVE this restaurant. Boneyard is my husband and my local jaunt when we want to go someplace and know we're going to get a good meal. My husband sticks to the ribs, which are made with a dry rub, but they are served with an amazing bbq sauce for dipping. I meanwhile love the burger w/ blue cheese. I call it a crackburger. I am addicted. A self proclaimed foodie- I would say that Father's Office def. takes 1st place IF you are on the West Side of L.A.- but you must try this burger if you are in the Valley or on the way! It's my favorite in Los Angeles. The baked beans and coleslaw (usually don't care for coleslaw) are also pretty damn good. Oh yeah- make sure to start with ""the wedge"" salad. MMMMMMMMMMMM.\r \r We have always had amazing service. The waiters have a good attitude, the Chef walks around making sure that his patrons are happy, and overall we have never had a bad meal or bad service. I would say it's more of $$$ than $$- but the food is def. worth it and the staff bends over backwards to make you feel at home. Pros: Free parking in a lot behind the restaurant Cons: Make rezzies- It can get pretty busy, especially on a weekend more

The best tri-tip unless my dad is cooking, fabulous service on Valentine's Day, accommodating to our toddler son! Great ambiance. 2/14/2007

So after reading some of the reviews, I recognize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Aron the chef does an amazing job all the way around in creating a chic neighborhood bbq with delicious food and fabulous ambiance. Without a reservation and a last minute decision we found available street parking to celebrate Valentines Day. I ordered the delicous smoked tri-tip medium well done to perfection and shared that with collard greens with my todder son and husband who also shared white meat chicken and four baby back ribs. All very lean. The shoestring french fries are seasoned lightly and have the perfect texture. My baked macaroni and cheese was incredible. We all loved the ""saucy"" bbq sauce as my son calls it. The service was impeccable and we loved meeting the chef!!! We came at dinner time and I was given a wihte rose -- thorns removed, by the hostess Nicole who was so accommodating and delightful. Our son made friends with all the people in the restaurant whcih is completely child friendly. My husband has a culinary degree, owned a caterng company and is an expert in the food industry and I love to cook. This was so much fun, delicious, and we can't wait to come back. Apparently our experience was completely different from some of the other people who posted. I have already recommended it to our family. Our waiter was great too, we served much quicker than most establishments and the food was fresh. I was also able to chew everything after having oral surgery three weeks ago! Very impressive. Pros: Reasonably priced, excellent service, delicious food, superb ambiance, I loved it. Cons: That other people wrote such negative reviews! more
