Well, I have owned a horse for 2 years and I wanted to board it at Black Bottom, but as soon as I saw those outrageus prices, I said no. The tack shop is nice, but the school horses are poorly trained. I wouldn't go there for the convience, because your safety comes first. more

Fabulous Stable 2/16/2010

Black Bottom Stables is not only for the English rider. I have been a boarder there for 10 years and know that lessons are offered in Western Pleasure, Hunt Seat, and Jumping. It is up to the rider to pick a discipline. Pros: Great Trainers more

Nice but not cheap! 3/24/2008

Black Bottom is a nice place overall. Everyone i've come into contact with while visiting has been friendly and helpful. Black Bottom is very much catered towards that english show rider and not the western pleasure rider. I've ridden at Black Bottom about 4 times on a boarders horse and the place isn't that large so you're usually sharing the covered areana with 2-6 other riders. The tack shop is very nice but VERY expensive. They sell everything from saddles to Breyer Model Horses. I wouldn't recommend doing your shopping at the tack shop due to the prices but if you want to take lessons and ride english it would be a nice place to check out. They charge around $400.00 a horse for pasture board only. Mares are kept in one field all together and geldings are kept in another field all together. Pros: Clean, Tack Shop Cons: Expensive, Lack of parking, Small riding area, 99% english riders more
