Don't let the tablecloths fool you!!!! But considering the price, Olive Garden is 10 times better!! I sent my initial order back because it was ""too bland"". I guess the chef was insulted because the overflow of salt in my 2nd choice was so overwhelming that it crunched! (If you get my drift!) Being a waitress in my younger years and acknowledging the fact that she didn't do the cooking; we still tipped the waitress Katie 20%. She was awesome!\r \r BEWARE!!!!!!!! more

Sunday 4/6/14 raining hard outside and we came into this warm and friendly place. We enjoyed the bread and bruschetti toast. The bow tie pasta with smoked salmon was perfect! Must of been more than 5 ounces of salmon My husband loved having his coffee refilled quickly. The water refill may have been a little too much but a word suffices. I had more than half of my meal boxed to go home. The bread pudding was gigantic with whip cream in swirls on a few sides and a scope of ice cream on top-we each ate some and took the rest home. WE loved the quaint old surfaces and happy not to see it done by interior perfection of the obsessive-compulsive--look forward to another meal. more

The Worst Meal We Ever Had 6/18/2011

Memorial day weekend 2011, friends from various part of the country came together for what we thought was gonna be an awesome meal. The entire meal and evening (7:30-10:15) spent at the restuarant was a nightmare. The staff seemed confused and disorganized. The service was VERY slow, the salad order was mixed up and several hours after we ordered, the ""food"" arrived. The steaks were over-cooked and the quality of the food was horrific. The potatoes were old and brown colored and in an attempt to cover up the lack of fresh food, they covered them some ungodly sauce. Several of us refused to eat the meat as it was like shoe leather. We didn't even get all of our food!!!! The waiter was sweating the entire time. We finally learned that (2) chefs had walked out that night and they were trying to serve a wedding party of 400 across the street. We believe we were served wedding party seconds. We asked to see a manager and finally a lady appeared and offered our party free deserts as an apology for a ruined evening. To add insult to injury they actually charged members of our party for salads and drinks even though we didnt get all of our food and our meal and evening were reuined. We will NEVER eat there again. BEWARE BEWARE! This place is a TOURIST TRAP. DO NOT EAT THERE!--- \r \r more

Go somewfere else! 8/9/2010

This place is full of it. Lots of puff. But can't deliver good food. I spent the last week eating out 3 meals a day in Hot Springs.\r This is by far the highest priced Italian Restaurant with the lowest quality food in the city. Skip it. more

Belli Arti is average 10/9/2009

Went there one time, I found the food to be average Italian, which was disappointing. I went to Italy years ago and this was no where near and the owner is even Italian. Also, when I commented that the Tiramisou had a frozen taste, the waiter only said "hm, I thought it was good". The two of us spent $130!! more

Belle Arte not the same! 4/12/2009

Watch your bill- it could be padded! Lobster bisque cut with Campbell's condensed cream soup, ""vegetable medley"" a cafeteria style peas/carrot blend- no substitutions with other veggies allowed. Very weak drinks... Good complimentary bruschetta! Even skimped on our take-out box- 1/3 of our pasta dish mysteriously disappeared between table and carry-out container. A long time to get main courses after apps- for a table of 5. However, good overall wait-staff service. Lasagna came out luke-warm and had to be sent back. Pros: Service, basic pasta dishes Cons: upcharging, weak drinks, some poor quality food items more

What did I just pay for!? 8/10/2005

Locals think the interior is some film noir, in truth it is gaudy and confused. Crowded in areas, huge ill conceived chandeliers and too warm for comfort. Service can be a bit overbearing with someone constantly fussing at the table. The food is inconsistent with a bitter tasting caesar salad and way oversauced entrees. Both our meals were swimming in sauce which had an acidic bite to it. Dessert was the highlight with a nice cheesecake and a fruit compote. The owner is very abrasive and loud and constantly yelling at the staff. The prices are way above reasonable for the quality of food and preparation. We paid over $150 for two with a couple of glasses of wine with no tip! It wasn't worth that much. Pros: downtown, piano music Cons: ambiance, over the top service, poor quality food more

What a mistake! 12/11/2004

Taken here by a colleague and shall not return! The service was over the top. I don't think I spent more than 2 minutes at any time without someone at my table. We couldn't carry on a conversation if we tried. I ordered a mixed seafood dish that was less than tasty. The lobster was tough and chewy and the mussels were very fishy. My colleague's Saltimbocca a la Roma was smothered in sauce and tasted of little else. The veal was bland, and he couldn't taste the sage that is so important to this dish. I wouldn't say the piano was wonderful, with a player singing very suggestive songs in the bar that was so loud we left to return to our hotel. Pros: downtown convenient, large menu Cons: , food preparation more

great place 9/3/2004

i've lived hot springs a long time. i know the owners of Belle Arti. my review is impartial to them. they have excellent food. the service is great. the staff is very polite. the owners are very attentive to their clients. it has a very charming atmosphere, artistic with soft lighting. nice piano bar, very talented piano player and singer. i recommend the manicotti al forno and ask the singer to perform ""My Funny Valentine."" Pros: fine food, friendly staff, warm atmosphere more

It's Okay 5/21/2002

This used to be a first-rate dining experience. Not anymore! It isn't totally devoid, just missing some of the details. Service is close to being overbearing. There was someone filling our water glasses ever 2 or 3 minutes. Food came out of the restaurant at different times also. Two dining companions had meals, about 2 minutes later another plate arrived and about 5 minutes after that I got served. The food quality has slipped also. I had a veal chop that was so overcooked it tasted like beef pot roast. The pasta sauce was not real fresh tasting on one meal. Just not what it used to be. Pros: convenient, large selection Cons: crowded, poor food preparation, overbearing service more
