I tried to get a cleaning here in May. They wouldn't accept me unless I disclosed my SS# to them. When I tried to explain that they did not have the right to demand this piece of information (identity theft concerns) from me because I was not going to pay via insurance, a cranky, middle aged woman who looked like she shares DNA with the ""tooth masons"" in the ad immediately told me that they wouldn't honor my appointment and I should leave. When I calmly tried to explain why I left the information blank, they asked if I wanted to see the manager. An effeminate man with a goatee then appeared and explained that they need this info to report you to credit agencies if you did not pay. I told him my concerns and said I would pay in advance. He said that was not good enough and I should leave (original). When I asked to speak to the owners (who obviously have too much business) I was told I could not. \r

My advice is this: the place seems to be comfortable enough to be obdurate and rude to its customer base. I would bet they have a surplus of elderly patients that don't make waves or mind being taken for granted as long as they don't have to change their routine. I would warn any new or reasonably self-respecting patient to avoid this place. It's a mom and pop operation in a seedy dump in a very traffic heavy area. They don't have time for you. They won't work with you. They will bully you. The dentists won't intervene because they are shielded from the administrative processes and probably sired most of the staff and can't escape problems with unconscientious staff. It's a money-centric cabal run by the unattractive offspring of an elderly dentist and a son who probably couldn't make it without his support. Try someone who still cares about the patient and not the payment.
