Reading reviews can be good and bad, as I was almost scared off from Bascom's Chop House. I can only say that my experience was awesome!! Our server was Kathy and she was both nice and helpful. My wife had the filet and it was by her standards ""as good as it gets!!"". I had the bone in ribeye and it too was incredible, maybe the only negative was how big the steak was. Quite a lot of food but it made a great sandwich for lunch the next day. For dessert we took Kathy's advice and ordered the berries and cream. Very unique dessert and oh soooo good!!\r 25% off wine bottles on weekends is quite a good deal as their wine list is extensive. Both my wife and I recommend this restaurant to friends all the time now. more

While on vacation in the Tampa - Clearwater area we stopped by Bascom's. We wanted to treat ourselves to a good steak and some fresh seafood. We were greeted by a very pleasant and professional hostess and seated shortly after. Mike, the GM, stopped by our table to introduce himself and tell us a little bit about Bascom's. He too was very pleasant and professional. Molly, our server, was nothing short of extraordinary. On a scale of 1-10, she is a 10. Her entree choice recommendations for us and her ability to explain all their menu items in detail wowed us. We chose the lobster bites, shrimp, and crab meat as our appetizers. The lobster bites are Delicious with a capital D. I had the porterhouse with mushrooms. She had the ribeye with broccoli. The steaks were large and cooked to perfection. We stopped by for a good steak and fresh seafood. We got an amazing steak and some great seafood and a dining experience that we will remember for years. I would recommend Bascom's to anyone looking to enjoy an evening out. more

We had a glorious dinner here the other night.had a cozy table for dinner and Phil as out waiter who was spectactular. more

Had a bread basket brought out with soft butter, Nice selection of rolls, sunflower , poppy seed and a plain white. Very good. more

Had a cocktail before dinner, a blueberry hill martini, it was very good and not too sweet like most are. ($9) Hubby had a guiness ($6.25) They have happy hour only at the bar for $1 off drinks, they do not offer draughts. more

Bascom's Chophouse is the undisputed leader in the race for Pinellas County's best Steakhouse. There are not any even close. Consistently excellent. more

The food was superb, the service was great and price is comparable to any other fine restaurant. Our server was so thoughtful. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and after we had finished our meal Jason our server brought us a piece of the most awesome chocolate fudge cake to help us celebrate. He could not have been nicer. We will definitely be going to Bascom's Chop House many more times. I think the best part of our dinner was the quiet to enjoy the great food. There were no screaming little kids in the place and that was something we have not experienced in many a year. more

Went to restaurant with a party of 14 for double birthday celebrations. Attempted to present $25 Bascom gift cert. that was purchased on line and given as a gift to us. We have NEVER been able to use it there!!!!! Each time it is presented, there is one excuse or another even though the reason is not listed on the print out. We requested the manager and Keith Macatee, the event manager came over and was EXTREMELY rude and confrontational with us and others at the table. When he was asked specifically why it could not be used, he continually told me that ""if I had a $25 gift card, it could be used but my nephew only paid $12.50 for it"". When I asked what that had to do with it and that I didn't appreciate that comment, he accused me of having too much to drink. I had 1 1/2 drink all nite and coffee at that time. He actually escorted our party out. Very humiliating and when he was asked for his manager, he gave us a false number. I will NEVER go there again and definitely tell everyone that attempts to that they are not professional and do NOT buy that internet dinner discount. They do NOT honor it. He should definitely not be in a management position. We live very close to that rest. and will go to Tampa before we would ever go there again for a steak. Very humiliating and poor experience. more

Great place for a business meeting or lunch, romantic dinner for a special occasion. Incredible food and service and attention to detail. This place is wonderful. Highly reccomend the Bascoms Salad, and any of the steaks particularly the Filet. Also the oysters bascom are incredible. Pros: great food, service and atmosphere Cons: Its just too good more
