I took my niece there a couple of weeks ago we had fun. The zoo is a safe and relaxing environment that a family can spend time bonding. Hoa, my niece, wanted to spend most of the time at the Swamp exhibit. Our favorite part of the zoo was the alligators and turtles. more

Animals Amongst Us 8/31/2002

I think the Zoo is perhaps the best zoo I have ever visited. The animals seem happy. It is a great outing for children and the boat ride over even better. Although I reccommend taking the trolley back rather than the boat because with the trolley you are able to catch glimpses of the Garden District which is also a nice attraction. Pros: Not terribly expensiv, Reccomend boat ride, Reccomend trolley Cons: long walk to the zoo more

Simply the best 8/8/2002

Of al the zoos I've seen the Audobon is the best. A fantastic variety of animals and the most attractive grounds. It's a nice place to just take a walk. Pros: Swamp Exhibit, Swamp Fest, Beautiful Grounds more

Classic, nothing better! 8/8/2002

While it has been a while since I have lived in New Orleans, I do implore everyone to visit this zoo! A great combination of older city charm and ever-changing progress, I visit this zoo every time I go to New Orleans & there is always something new! A little bit high priced, but that is with everything ""tourist-ty"" in New Orleans...So take a leisurely stroll through the Orient, go get a small snoball at the stand by Monkey Hill, have a seat on ""the Fly"" and forget about all your worries for a day! Pros: Great exhibits, friendly staff Cons: slightly high priced more

THE WILD OUTDOORS 8/5/2002

THE AUDUBON ZOO IS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE KIDS. THERE'S A PETTING ZOO, OAKS TREES TO PICNIC. IT'S A GREAT PARK WITH SHADED AREAS. THERE'S EVERYTHING FROM ALLIGATORS TO ZEBRAS. more

BEST family outing in the entire city! 7/26/2002

One of the best family destinations in the entire metro area. Highly recommend taking the Zoo Cruise which goes to the zoo then on a riverboat cruise that stops at the Aquarium. Absolutely fantastic. Pros: Fun, Learning more

Open Air Enjoyment 7/23/2002

Audubon Zoo is still the best inexpensive attraction in New Orleans. Families are everywhere, and there are plenty of refreshments on a hot day. We always enjoy walking the trails....There's lots to see. Pros: animals to see, inexpensive, good parking Cons: crowded on some days, not always cleanest more
